This is my first year so I have no clue. The day before Thanksgiving and the day before Christmas Eve were terrible, we had 11 11 11 on Que Vision for about 2 hours straight and then 9 to 10 the rest of the day. So is Christmas Eve less, just as bad, or pure hell?
It's close, no question. I feel though that the day before Thanksgiving is slightly worse. It seems busier. Thanksgiving is pretty much all about the food whereas even on Christmas Eve, you still will find mobs of people swarming the malls, Walmart and other stores for Christmas gifts. Since Christmas isn't just about the food, you have people not buying food at Kroger because they're out elsewhere doing other kinds of shopping. So, I do think the day before Thanksgiving is worse, but Christmas Eve is still a hard one to get through, too.
thanksgiving is the lowest turd in the $h1t barrel, especially if you have to work in any department that stocks a heavy portion of the store such as grocery or drug gm. stocking the shelves the night before and after thanksgiving is probably the most manual labor anyone has to bust out for their crappy minimum wage paycheck for the entire year. christmas is almost as bad, but definitely not as bad as thanksgiving is an entirely food oriented holiday, but christmas still manages to stress me/everyone else out just a little more than thanksgiving. either way, i need a drink after tonight
well at my store people with the most seniority take their vacations at these times, so it's hell on those left.. and i ain't no kid. so i would have t say the worst places i have ever worked in any retail is kroger because of that bullcrap.
Here at my store the day before Christmas Eve was the worst this year. Day before Thanksgiving was busy but not nearly as bad as the day before Christmas Eve.
