my mother Sandra Lynn Arispe worked hard for krogers for several years... She was dedicated to her job.... She always said she had life insurance for me n my sister if anything ever haened.... She got sick suddenly and had to miss work alot.... She went on sick leave... For two weeks... Still not knowing wat wats wrong... She went in the hospital for 5 days n passed away from lung cancer.... Unexpectedly...so we didn't really talk about this much...my mom was only 48 . I'm her oldest daughter and I was told when I went to the jfk store that that only was accidental insurance...wtf...and maybe she had insurance thru the union.... I haven't been able to get any help.
I could be wrong, i'm not an expert at this by any means, but i always understood that insurance policy to be in case anything ever happens while on the job.
Very sorry for your loss :( You need to call the union or Kroger human resources. I don't work for Kroger anymore and never had their insurance, but it's possible there is covered life insurance or she was paying for it. Life insurance is not for accidents on the job, it is for if the person passes away the family can get the money to cover funeral expenses etc.
I am too planning to have life insurance but someone told me that it must not be counted as investment. So I would like to go for some other types of investments too along with insurance. Looking for some personal financial planning advice too for getting started.
