drug gm or front end. If it's front end be a bookkeeper and be gone by 3pm every day. You're above the drama but indespensible yet have enough time every day of the week to have a life.

You do not want to do service desk full time unless you're a masochist.

Definitely Drug/GM, especially if you work at 4am cause you get night clerk and night premium pay, and at our store they never call the 4am DGM clerks to the FE. You get off by 12:30pm before the store gets reallly busy with customers then you have the rest of the day to have a live.

For the stores that have it, ClickList. Never get called to the front for anything and never forced to help out other departments. You're on your own with nobody breathing down your neck as long as you finish your orders on time. Love it.

id say front end - if you have good coworkers, its always fun. Like hanging out with your friends while still taking care of customers and telling each other stories, and of course meeting tons of people from every different walk of life

Front End depends on what store you're in, in the store i'm at now, people actually WANT to move up to the front end but that is the only time i've ever heard of that.

Front end can really, really suck... and a lot of times, it's due to customers that are seemingly hellbent on making employee' lives miserable. If a customer gets steamed, for any reason, because of something in another department, the front end has to listen to the customer grip and complain over and over about it. If a coupon doesn't scan, look out, because some customers will act like you're reaching over the register and literally taking their hard-earned money straight out of their pocket. Do I even need to comment on the customers that come up there with piles of stinky, filthy reusable bags and then proceed to speak with a holier than thou attitude? And courtesy clerks... oh gosh, surviving the parking lot can often seem like playing a game of Frogger. Front end flat out sucks whether you're part time or full time.

Definitely a bagger. At least you can make up the low wage by getting tips. You can usually get enough tips a day to by dinner or lunch every day and **** if you save it it can go a long way. Plus you get to leave your "work space" and go outside which takes time especially if you collect a few baskets while your out.

I'm with you on this one. In my store it seems to mostly be done by some of the teenagers. And looks like half the time they are on their cell phones going around with the little cart. And will ask you what this or that is, and keep on moseying down the way. I swear most days if I wasn't in the bakery, I'd be sorely tempted to switch over to them, lol.

the front end is probably the best if you don't want to do manual labor, but dealing with surly customers is the trade off. grocery receiver seems like a pretty sweet gig to full time in. got a big responsibility controlling the back door but you don't have to do as much heavy lifting and you're mainly out of the customer's reach.
