Hello,

My name or at least on here is Doc J and I have worked off and on in grocery stores for a few years and have been at the Kroger I am at for almost 1 year.

I am usually wherever management needs me even though it seems like I am stuck on the registers (I am more of a back of the store person).

The stockroom "designed for no back stock" is always full of backstock and we have to use trailers to hold excess stuff.

The store I am at is not very organized and lots of things are constantly breaking down all the time. Front end and department managers get in fights over people reminds me of two children fighting over a toy while they are both screaming "MINE" and then the Gm or co manager makes a decision and usually leaves the other off to sulk (figuratively).  Courtesy clerks get borrowed to condition or put together patio furniture. Store clerks get put in all sorts of places like the bakery or having to stock drug/gm.

I enjoy 99.5 percent of the customers but there is the 0.5 percent that can be trouble sometimes. I hate working the express lane, I don't mind the tobacco lane though. I work with a really good group of people its rough all over for everyone as we usually have to do the jobs of 2 or 3 people but that has been the case anywhere I have worked.

The store I work in has been my "family" store my grandparents used to shop there as well as my parents and everyone else in my small town I have known some of the associates for almost my entire life (I will be 40 next month). And it is that way for me now I get frustrated sometimes but I am happy there for the most part.
