I had a secret shopper come in 5 minutes after I closed. Slicers were taken apart and lights in cases were off. They said "Is the deli closed?" I said "Yes". They said "So, you aren't going to serve us?" Writing tit all down. I said "What is you you would like?" They said "What's your name?" I told them. They then asked for sandwich spread. I got it for them. They then said "Oh, you acted like you weren't going to serve us," I said "Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to give off that impression." They through their hands in the air and said "Whatever." I said "Is there anything else?" They walked away and I said "Have a good night." I can't stand people who try to find something to complain about. It's annoying! Secret shoppers do just that. Why can't they come in and look for something positive instead of something negative?

Get to your department, get off your phone, and do your job!
Because sometimes they like to press buttons to see how you'll react in any given situation. They'll act like they're having a bad day to see how you'll respond. If you keep cool, good for you. You get a positive review. If you get upset, then you will have a bad time. I promise you that.
Sometimes secret shoppers come in already fouled up. Not at you, they may be pissed at something totally unrelated and you are the recipient. Get mad back at them, and what wasn't your problem IS now YOUR problem. They can and will get back at you for "giving attitude." And no matter what transpired, it is YOUR fault. That's the way management and corporate will see it.
Just keep your cool and be polite as polite can be.

Why are we getting secret shoppers? Is that even allowed at Kroger?

Threw. Through is a preposition. Threw is the past tense of the verb to throw.

Gee thanks for the grammer lesson. You are wasting your talents.
But anyways, we were told secret shoppers stop coming in after a certain time. They don't tell us when though because they think we'll slack off on our attributes if we knew.
We had one guy shopped on his day off. He failed all of the attributes. Management tried to get it voided but corporate made it stick. Luckily management said even though his 100% score would have to change, they would keep it in the store computer st 100%
