One of my favorite things to do since we have a large homeless population that steals our carts to put their stuff into, is to go up to them and tell them they have stolen property as I am part owner of that cart be cause I am a shareholder. I dump all their stuff out and take the cart. I always notify the LAPD to what I am doing. They have been instructed by the mayor to leave them alone, but someone like me can legally do what I enjoy doing. That is what I enjoy doing. The homeless can get a darn job. I have full support of the police. If the homeless become aggressive, that is when the police will arrest them. Now these deadbeats don't even have their stuff anymore. Most of it is stolen anyway

People who are fully capable of working but willingly choose to leech off taxpayers like us who get 30% of our slave wages taken away next week get no sympathy from me. In fact, I think I borderline hate them. Take their carts.

Uuuh, the only way a homeless person can leech off of taxpayers' dollars is if they're arrested so...

As for my thoughts on the homeless.

I really don't hate them, as that is exactly what the elites want (pitting poor against poorer against poorest), and why retail companies are allowed to pay such unreasonable wages and hours.

All of that aside, there is this one (allegedly) homeless guy whose in my store that gets on my nerves.

He unplugs electric scooters, so he can plug in his phone. He'll put all of his random crap on the bench for senior customers, and leave it there for like, an hour. He's tried to put his random crap in our Front End cooler that's for the baggers.

He hasn't told anyone he's homeless or panhandled but he's irritating.

You better watch yourself. Working at Kroger means you are not so far from being homeless yourself.

There's some homeless people that hang out around my store too. One guy in particular comes in almost every day. I don't mean to sound like an a**hole but I can't help but think as much as he hangs around this part of town, there's so many businesses around, why doesn't he try applying at some of them for once? I understand people get stuck in rough situations but if you're been homeless for this long and you're 50 years old, quit blaming society for your problems.

See, how that logic works?

I'm not saying the homeless are saints or that they don't need to get their sh#t together, just that a lot of us here, need not talk.

Furthermore, the days of walking in, and applying to a job with a paper application are over. Applying to be a waiter at the goddamn Olive Garden is an online ordeal that takes like 90 damn minutes.

We have a couple of them that hang around ours as well. We have one that will sit in a wheel chair all day collecting change, food, and always wanting to bum a smoke. Then will call a cab from his cell phone and leave. Once I noticed that he had a cell phone and called a cab every time, I stopped giving him a smoke and pretend I didn't hear him. Those are the ones that make me mad.

Some homeless people cannot help being homeless. Some may be mentally not able to work and may not have any family. I have heard of people like that. Just leave homeless people alone you cannot assume someone is lazy. Yes there are people who can work who leech off taxpayers but not all of them. You never know what might happen to you so its best not to assume. -Win7User.

I'm homeless, and I have a job with Kroger for the past month. I hope to get an apartment soon.

Wow, seriously? So you just assume I'm a criminal drug addict because I'm homeless? I passed the drug and background check.

I want to know how you still have a job at Kroger? You are so judgmental in obviously more ways than with homeless. You must hide it well and that is why you decided to sign out and reply anonymously. I admit there are some that pretend to be homeless just for the free money and food so that they don't have to work. But, some homeless are Veterans who couldn't find jobs after fighting for our country, some were abused or unaccepted by family and friends, and some have had everything taken from them by the government. You don't know who's who until you have actually met them or seen their actions.

Been with Kroger 41 years. Been there, done that. I have earned the right to speak my mind. I live in Calif. and have a great pension in the works and a strong union. Us ol timers run the show!! We make $21.00 an hour, house paid for.. Ralphs worships their ol timers because this job is easy. Although I still hate homeless and any employee on food stamps

You're a scumbag.  You take joy in the suffering of other people to fuel your own ego and self gratify.  You have no idea the circumstances of the person you are harassing and you have no right to be demanding back stuff you don't own.  You work at krogers, at most you own less than 0.0000001% of that cart.

With that out of the way, i hope someday when you hit a rough time in your life and the safety nets fail you, some scumbags comes up and throws all your **** onto the ground and takes back your cart.

Signed,

Someone who was actually homeless after being abused for 15 years and running away.

I would have LOVED too see someone TRY and take something from my uncle (who was homeless) that did NOT belong to them
My uncle would have kicked the crap out of that 'someone.' Then i would have kicked their @as as well. Would be fired, but they wouldn't dare so that again. I can promise you that once they got done with physical therapy.

Just a friendly price of advice, you do NOT take a homeless personal possessions away... You WILL get hurt.

The irony...Talking bad about a homeless person while "Another Day In Paradise" comes on the radio...

Seriously, we had a guy working in our store, who was a former Wal-Mart employee...He described living out of his car for a couple of years with no place to go, so don't think it can't happen to YOU! Fortunately, he got his life straightened out, but it goes to show that if it can happen to him, it can happen to ANYONE!
