Anyone have the deets on which holidays get a holiday premium, and how long you have to work at kroger to get said premium? Thanks!

Contracts might vary.

1 Year:  Christmas, Labor Day and 1 supplemental day.

2 Years:  Memorial Day and add 1 supplemental day.

3 Years:  Thanksgiving and add 1 supplemental day.

4 Years:  New Years, 4th of July and add two supplemental days.

our contract no one gets holiday pay other than old timers on a old contract. THANKS KROGER!

In the Louisville division there are six paid holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  You get holiday pay after one year of service.  Full timers get paid 8 hours.  Part timers get paid 4  or 6 hours depending on how many hours they work the rest of the week.

According to our contract: All full time (except Utility Clerks) employees get paid for the following Holidays New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

All Part time employees 

13-36 months: Thanksgiving and Christmas

over 36 months: Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas

All employees except Utility Clerks will be entitled to 3 additional days off with pay after 1 year of employment.

If you are part time you get a 4 hour pay. If you are full time you get an 8 hour pay.

And they wonder why it's hard to get us CCs or UCs to work holidays. I feel bad for them. Almost each and every contract seems to exclude us from some sort of decent benefit. I wonder whose pansy b*tch a$$ idea it was to exclude us. I wish i could find out so I can call out their lame a$$ f*cktard idea to exclude CCs and UCs

Section 16.01: The following shall be recognized as holidays: New Year's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day or days legally celebrated in lieu thereof. Employees who work a full week in which a holiday occurs shall receive eight (8) hours pay in addition to the hours worked, provided that there shall be no deduction from pay of employees who work a full week in which a holiday occurs. Employees who are absent during a holiday week shall not be paid holiday pay unless such absence is due to proven illness or is excused by the Employer in which case the employee shall receive holiday pay, provided he worked any part of the holiday week. Overtime at time and one-half (1 1/2) will be paid in a holiday week after the hours actually worked exceed forty (40) straight-time hours.

Section 16.02: Part-time employees shall be entitled to holiday pay for the holidays set forth in Section 16.01. Employees who are absent during a holiday week shall not be paid holiday pay unless such absence is due to proven illness or is excused by the Employer in which case the employee shall receive holiday pay, provided he worked any part of the holiday week. Holiday pay shall be determined by averaging the hours worked during the previous four (4) weeks to the holiday week in accordance with the following schedule:

AVERAGE HOURS

HOLIDAY PAY

Under 122 hours
12 to 244 hours
24 to 326 hours
32 and over8 hours

^ I wonder if that will change any (if it does, probably for the worse) once the Local 1000 finally gets around to presenting a new contract (you know, for the one that was due to expire June 3rd but keeps getting extended), whenever that may be.

This is NOT the case at the Kroger for which I am Employed. I received Holiday pay before my 1 year Anniversary. But then again, I'm sure every Kroger in every State doesn't have the same Policies.

Kroger fulfillment center in georgia requires you to work the day before and after the holiday in order to receive holiday pay. Does anyone know if this is legal

 I've read other posts where people have said you have to work the day before and the day after a holiday in order to receive holiday.  So it must be true.  It sounds pretty ****ty to me though.  They could schedule half the employees off the day before the holiday and the other half the day after the holiday and end up not having to pay any holiday pay except for the people who have so much seniority they can practically pick their own schedule.  Luckily my contract only says you have to work your schedule in order to receive holiday pay

If you dislike how things are you can:

 

A) Voluntarily resign

B) See A

C) Get promotes to a higher position

 

I disagree however. CC's and UC's deserve higher pay with all the krap that they have to deal with. When I was a UC, And had to clean a "destroyed bathroom" I made damn well sure after cleaning things  up all the way, myself as well, to get myself

A roast beef (thick cut) sandwich with mayo, mustard.

A soda

And a small bag of chips. 

Put it on Kroger's dime. 

 

Hell, if they weren't going to give us anything extra, might as well as get a decent lunch and have kroger pay for it.

 So making the executive decision that Kroger is "paying" for your lunch makes it right?

 

Did you even get it authorized or did you go with the "Kroger will cover it." Motto. You can technically get fired for that.  So my suggestion is to enjoy your lunch before they put you on indefinite suspension.

The only other thing us, you can say you forgot your wallet and then actually pay for your lunch and hope it gets you  out of trouble that is waiting for you. 

 

I understand about the exclusion, but deciding to have Kroger pat for your lunch without prior approval is wrong as well

 It doesnt count if your day off falls on after or before the holiday. you would get it still

Probably your scheduled days before and after. Not necessarily the calendar days before and after. If someone calls out before or after - no holiday pay.
