WONDERFUL idea, but Kroger will never do it because they are waaaay too money-hungry.  And it wouldl tick off ALOT of this "entitled" generation of spoiled whiners and "I gotta have this NOWW!! -- people" who shop every Sunday.

I really don't give a rat's ass about working on Sundays.

Maybe it's because I don't have kids or any family here.

I just want to get paid more.

Chick-Fil-A can get away with something like that...Because well...They're Chick-Fil-A.

Everyone KNOWS why they are closed that day (and support the chain just for that) and they offer quality unique products.

If Kroger started closing on Sundays, EVERYONE (including the Church folks who pick up their hot fried 200 piece every Sunday) would just go "F**k this I'm going to Wal-mart!" And do just that, and fill in the blanks with caterers.

Just increase our pay..Not by 12-15 dollars, but something reasonable.

That would increase my morale. And don't screw hardworkers out of full time.

To some degree it would be nice to have Sundays off. If not every one of them, but every other one. Cause it gets old real fast having to close on Saturday nights to pop up and be back bright and early on Sundays. And it's not like my fam even does Sunday dinners since my mom passed 2 years ago. But still, what little fam I got left I do wish to be able to spend it with them.

But mainly I think the managers need to work on how they are talking to employees lately. As all I'm hearing as of late, is how people are getting chewed up and down over little stuff. And therein, many putting in notice left and right. And even a chick that used to work in our Cheese Shop that has been there for years even switched over to Clicklist to get away from some of the drama too. And the lead even quit some time ago as well. It's really getting crazy.

I do agree about the full time thing also. Reward those that are doing quality and hard work and anybody that isn't, put them on a probationary basis or something. Letting them know if they can't shape up, they will be dropped back down to part-time and someone else can have a chance at full time.

By entitled generation, i'm assuming you mean the boomers and older then, because they're the ones coming in after church every Sunday morning buying up everything.

What 4hourrush said.

At Kroger (and my last department store job) THOSE were the people who would argue the most over prices and coupons, and who feel entitled to double fuel points, YEAR ROUND, and feel entitled to digital only deals that they can't be bothered to learn to download.

Not a single "millennial" customer has been guilty of that.

They can make sucky coworkers, but that's another discussion.

No.

A lot of employees work 6 day weeks since that's the only way to get any hours.  I did that for a few years.  That means that Sunday is the only day they will ever get off unless they lose hours.

I like having some flexibility to choose a day or two off.

Sunday pay, though, would be wild.  I can't believe that was a thing.  And that they let it go!  How'd that happen?  We still have a few old-timers that get it.  Sundays are always so awful I try to pick a late or short shift if I can.

Sunday is a HELL NO! But how about more standard hours of operation ?

Stores open: 6am/7am - 11pm

Just like all other stores have learned! If you have a good product and service ...Customers figure it out and understand your reasons......and learn to shop at another time.

Chik-fil-A ----Closed on Sunday Always has lines Mon-Sat

Stores are beginning to do that, most stores around here that used to be 24 hours, are now open from 5a-1a.

Shop on saturday moron. You would have no problem with Wal-Mart being closed on Sunday though, would you?
