It definitely isnt bull. I have my dog registered because of my anxiety.. I am manic bipolar, used to get abused by my ex. having my dog with me in such an overwhelming situation is legitimate and insanely calming. He is a calming presence and helps me to focus on the task at hand. Dont say load of **** until you put yourself in someone elses shoes.
It needs to come to an end. This evening I witnessed a dog on a leash, jumping up on the baked goods, sniffing around, barking, and jumping up on people that walked by. I have a dog and I love dogs, but this is unacceptable. The only dogs allowed should be the certified service dogs. Pets stay home!

Nah pets love the pet aisle and get to choose their treats of choice also maybe a new toy. At checkout time my pet enjoys pushing his head in between the young cashiers legs too. Pets will not stay at home period.

Whats his name? I want to guess what he is, but it may be inappropriate to guess what it is.

It won't happen because we live in a selfish society now.

For the last 8 months, I have spoken to Interim Store Managers, and the current Lindsay Gasior, Store Leader #636. I have pointed out to all of the "Leaders/Managers" and I get the same response. In fact, I did a cut and paste of this "Leader's email to me in response to my complaint (see below);
Julia
Good afternoon. Im writing to follow up on you concern about dogs in the store. I 100% share your feelings and concerns on this topic, however Krogers stance is that if the animal is a service animal then they are allowed in the store. Paperwork or documentation is not required either so as soon as we inquire about the animal all the customer tells us its a service animal and we cant do anything about it. And as long as the animal is in a cage or has a barrier between the cart and the shopping cart we are not allowed to tell the customer otherwise. I too wish the company would not allow this but until then I cannot say otherwise to the customer.
As far as your complaint of the new manager If youd like to have more dialog about which manager you are referring to, and how they are disrespectful, Im happy to hear the feedback and address the concern. I left a voicemail at the number provided to Customer Connect on the complaint.
Thank you,
Lindsay Gasior
Store Leader #636
Lindsay, there is NO dialoging with you, I've tried that approach. There are MANY customers that have shared their experience(s) of dialoging with you. Most won't ever shop your store again.
I personally checked into the GA law regarding bringing a dog or cat into grocery stores and I discovered I was right, "grocery stores are strictly off-limits for pets". Georgia law prevents dog and cat owners from bringing their pets when grocery shopping. As you know, many foods are exposed to the public, and having a pet around may place a risk to food items. In other words, Georgia does not allow pets in grocery stores for health reasons." However, Kroger on Steve Reynolds and Walmart on Pleasant Hill seem to have their own "Georgia law" and allow shoppers to bring their pets in to shop with them. They put them in the grocery baskets, sit them in their laps at the tables in the Star Bucks area, (they can even put their paws on the table), and the big dogs can even walk around the store with their owners and sniff the food, produce, and anything else they like, while their owners are shopping. I have reported it to the FDA health department for both Kroger and Walmart, but they continue to let shoppers bring their animals inside. Today, 01/02/2024, I was in Kroger and there was a cat inside with its owner sitting at a table with front paws on the table. I asked for the store manager, Lindsay, who told me "they can't say anything to the customer because it's against the law to say anything to them." I asked the Kroger store manager before Lindsay and received the same response. I have also asked for the store manager at Walmart, but received the same response there.
Here's a great question for Kroger and other stores --- if every shopper who buys their groceries from your store quit shopping there, would the pets be keeping your finances coming in to support and keep your store open; or a pay-check in your bank/pocket to help pay your mortgage or rent, vehicle, or food on the table???
I believe the pet issues need to be addressed, signs with big lettering need to be put on the front doors of Kroger, Walmart and all other grocery stores.
Please see attached sign regarding pets at CostC0 as well as other stores where I have shopped.

Nah, tries that with me, he's gonna get smacked. And he'll feel it too. And if he tries it again, let's just say he'd be imitating a football because I'd kick a field goal with the dog.
Ive seen one or two dogs at our store. One of them comes in a cart and is EXTREMELY well behaved. I was even allowed to give him scratches behind the ears (washed my hands with sanitizer afterwards of course). I do find it incredibly unusual that this is happening, but Im ok with it so long as the dog doesnt try to climb on anything and is just by his/her owners side. Like a well behaved child.
I will go out on a limb and say ban ALL animals including so-called "service animals"-I am a dog lover but a dog is a dog and no different if you put a label on it
There is no real policy, or none that can be relied on. Whoever is in the room gets the story kroger want to give them. Kissing the ess of the health department is the flip side of kissing the ess of dog people. Kissing everybody'e ess is the flip side of pushing everybody around.
So I found the solution. We technically CAN ask if theyre service animals, but its gotta be these specific questions: Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform.

Ive seen a few of these dogs here and there in my store, but as long as they dont bother me, OK. What can we really say to their owners anyway? With that said, Ive seen much more of this since COVID happened. Angry customers, too. Dont know if theres a correlation between all that, but I wonder.
I would be up for a dog taking a dump in the store with some fat middle-aged woman stepping in it, slipping on it, and falling to the ground. That in-and-of-itself would be a reason for being animal friendly in a store!

Id love to see you do that to my dog. He wont cuddle up to strangers but if you kick him enjoy the excruciating pain youll receive. This pit bull will eat you for breakfast.
You know they won't enforce this unless an animal viscously attack's an employee. Even then the enforcement will only last about 3 months at best. They'll just on the job injury them and send them on their way. The employee involved in this (god for bid) incident will probably not sue due to being too poor to afford a lawyer. And you know I'm right.
I had a customer harassment issue and a lawsuit is how we got some new safety language written into the policies in how we can handle stuff.
My child is allergic to dogs and yet selfish, insensitive dog owners keep bringing pets inside food establishments. I don't like dogs, I definitely don't want my food around them. What kind of nasty person are you. Have some respect and leave the filthy creature at home. As far as children go I doubt you'd qualify as a decent parent as your child would have to eat around creatures that lick their butts.

sounds like youre a expert in butt smelling. Keep your beast child at home or leave it in the car. We dont care to have a snot nose dirty filth wiping its boogers on food and various products.
