I'm considering transferring stores to work closer to my house. First off, is the process of transferring as easy as I've heard? And second, is it possible to transfer departments when you stich stores? I'm a dairy clerk, but I'd like to try my hand at ClickList.

Speak to your HR! It's not that easy the store closest to your home must also need you in the department that you work in or wanting to transfer to

My transfer was super easy. I didn't know I was transferring though, it was spur of the moment.

Worked a shift for a store that needed extra helped, loved the store, customers, and coworkers, got a blank piece of paper and wrote 2 notes to both stores.

"I appriciate all I learned at (insert home store), but due to advancement opportunities I would like to inform you of my request to transfer to (new store)"

and a similar letter to the store I wanted to move too. I spoke to managers and the store manager first, though, to make sure there was a spot opened. Then I transferred and gained FT. :P

It can be easy, hard or anywhere in between. A lot depends on how well your department is staffed at your current store and whether or not you're considered "valuable" there. The more valuable you are in the eyes of your department head/management, the less likely it is you'll get a transfer approved.

At the store that you want to transfer to, there has to be an opening in the department. Fortunately for you, ClickList is one of the more heavily staffed departments, so it's a bit easier to get a spot there. But yes, you can transfer stores and in the process, transfer departments. That's what I did.

Get the ball rolling by going to the store that you want to transfer to and speak with the co-manager in charge of HR there and the e-Commerce Supervisor. If things go well, bring it to the attention of your current store manager that you'd like to request a transfer.
