I worked yesterday at USCAN and everything ran smoothly, I transferred transactions and checked out customers at the podium. I get a text that the till was $115 short from my Front End Manager this morning. I wasn't the only person at USCAN but I don't know if someone is trying to set me up (but my manager didn't accuse me of anything she just asked me what happened ). Why would I think that ? There was a girl working at my store and everytime I asked her to count my till she would act like she was busy but wasn't doing ****. When she did count my till and it was short and wasn't that I couldn't count or was stealing. It would be because I forgot to sign out, left a roll, or the money went inside the drawer compartment something like that. So instead of her recounting the till she would leave it as is and say well it's okay I don't have to count it again. Suprise, she was fired for stealing (I would've never would've thought it). A new girl is there now she acts exactly like the girl who was caught stealing (sweet, innocent, and a little ratchet.) So yesterday the new girl came to work with a backpack ( Now, I just found out we go to the same college but we are on spring break and if she did have a class last night. She could've just left it in the car). So she relieved me for my break and when I came back she said "You're back already?.Now, she seems to be strange because she takes 30 to 40 minutes breaks and always on her phone. One day she asked me how to dial out on the store phone and I told her she could only use the phone at USCAN which was where I was at. She said she needed to call her ride ( but once I said you can only use the uscan phone she got nervous and said nevermind). So rewind back the girl who got caught stealing, they hired her best friend but they fired her as well I'm not sure why they fired her. Now the new girl got hired right around the time the girl who got caught stealing was fired and she has constantly made suggested that my F.E.M should let her work customer service but my manager hadn't even put her on a real register ( maybe manager already knows something is not right about her.). I believe the new girl and the girl who got fired know each other and the girl that got fired is telling her what to do to steal.
What do you think I should do (could there be a chance I get fired) ?
To answer your question, if you have cameras by the checkstands, then I'd say your in the clear. If it happens repeatedly, I'd talk to management and see what should be done
Weve been seeing tills short on my front end too. We think were not getting all the cash vouchers turned in. Full balance of SCO has been turning up over. We had a report that told me how many cash vouchers we got each day but it stopped showing on the report. Not helpful and theres no way to pull a report of what vouchers there were.
