One manager tells me I cannot override the price of override because it's the law. Another says I can, just not apply a scan rite on it. So this has me confused. Who is right?
I have the same problem, the managers at my store differ in opinions when it comes to certain policies, so I usually either let them apply it under their login or apply whatever the manager for that particular day tells me to do and have them sign off on a copy of the receipt.
Interesting. No front end or store manager has ever signed off on a receipt for me or any cashier that I've seen. We just ask them, then they say "ah go ahead and give it to them" and then they walk off.
Or my personal favorite. A customer comes to me with their order, then they say, "Hey, Kevin told me to tell you to give me this item for this price." And I have no choice but to give it to them cause Kevin is long gone in the back room or some place doing managerial things.
The state Alcohol Commission sets the minimum prices in our state. Not sure about your state.
I ask this because the last couple of times a customer had an issue with the price, it was because the alcohol scanned for the regular price and the plus card discount did not show up. You know how the price tag on the shelf shows two prices, the regular price and the discount price with the plus card? Well in these instances the customer scanned their kroger plus card, but the price didn't change like it should have.

Does that really count as changing the price?
Stuff like that normally means your Item tag is out of date or the vendor put the product in the wrong place, AGAIN. Under no circumstances are you to give alcohol for a lower price. I, personally, would ask the manager I called to do it under their numbers as you are uncomfortable doing it and will not risk your job over it.
After the error is made known you need to report it to someone who can change/check prices in the RF. (in order of relevance Tag Coordinator, Grocery Head, DSD, Manager)
If you're not comfortable doing something don't do it. You have a right to refuse to do ANYTHING you feel could jeopardize your safety, that of others or your job.

Alcohol does not show up as a normal discounted price like any other item. It will automatically price it as the discount. You do NOT need the plus card for the sale price. Also, in our state we are allowed to change the price to reflect the shelf tag if the scan coordinator missed it but we cannot give the scan rite discount (5$ off) for it.

That's what one of my managers told me. We're in Ohio.
Cant price override alcohol where I am. Cant apply scanrite either. Our solution to alcohol not matching the price posted is to do a store coupon for the difference.
