Yep, have one in my store. And yea they are regular Kroger employees that actually fall under my DH's cap. As well as floral employees as well. I think the only non-Kroger workers that we have in our store are the sample people, and the folks that work at the Sushi shop.
Ooh, we're getting a sushi shop when we remodel. I can't wait.
I hate to say this as the folks at your sushi shop may be different than at mine. As there have been a few of the workers that would steal oil and produce items for their own stuff. And they often don't clean up after themselves and their part of the bistro would be some kind of filthy. But even the store managers said they could only ding them for the oil and taking produce stuff. But can't really get on them about cleaning as they don't work for us.
Starbucks clerks actually fall under deli, same as bakery. it's its own department, but is similiar to how floral is to produce. On the schedule, they are coded in as "coffee shop". They are Kroger employees, but do get training from the Starbucks company in order to be able to use their licensing.
