applying for pharmacy tech, already working at kroger
Permalink

i am already working at kroger but about to apply for the pharmacy technician after i got my tech license. the department manager is already going to hire me, i talked to them and the store pays for the exam you're supposed to take. problem that might not be a problem is when i applied at kroger a year ago i lied on my application

i answered no to 'have you been to jail/arrested' and in fact i have been arrested and got a misdemeanor but i only paid a fine

so i wonder if i apply now and say 'yes' will that raise a red flag in corporate and end up in me getting terminated. i have decided that i dont want to lie anymore, and i cant even because it shows up on the extended background. kroger did a background on me when i first started so wouldnt it be done and over with.

It might get you fired because you lied the first time. Also if you lie now you wont be able to get into the Pharmacy because the extensive background check.

Normally, Misdemeanors will be overlooked as long as its not Theft or something too sinister, but normally your automatically fired it you do not disclose it. This is one of those areas where there isn't really any good answers someone on here will be able to tell you. How long ago was it? Possible call a local Lawyer or the Court House and ask if there is a program you can get enrolled in to expunge your verdict. Pharmacy Background checks definitely more hardcore and then your also finger printed if you are hired.

I would suggest leaving it alone right now, but technically you could be fired at any moment if they go back and look at your information.

it was long enough ago that it really shouldnt matter, only that i lied about it
it was a minor offense and i also figured they were looking for whether or not you had a felony
what i dont get is why wouldnt they have just fired me back when they did the first background check a year ago
ive spent close to a hundred dollars getting my tech license, so i feel like i should apply. the store likes me enough that i dont think they would fire me but if it is something corporate does then idk. not sure if they compare the info from each application in the system or what
