Nope, new uniform policy is "Associate First", you wear normal colored jeans and a solid color shirt under a blue apron/vest. I think it is funny how they are collecting the old uniforms to be "donated". The new uniform policy is just another thing that is going to be hard to enforce, but save $$ for the company. So if I go to work and tear my jeans on a pallet that has a nail sticking out of it? Will the company replace my jeans? Highly unlikely.

If anything they should have done something like Target, tell everyone they have to wear a specific color shirt and pants. I don't see how the union agreed to this, since most associates do ruin this shirt/pants with normal tasks done in the store. How many Bakery Associates get icing over their clothing? How many FE Cashier ruin the front of their shirt by rubbing again the checkstands? How many Grocery Clerks get bleach stains from leaking bottles?

Couple work shirts were ruined thanks to sticking bleach and a couple undershirts
I get icing and or glove powder on my clothing all the time, eventually the shirts wear out due to how many times you have to wash them...
My store's "recruiting/retention specialist" (the former ARM's) said the company wanted the old shirts back but she said heck no she doesn't want anyone's old shirts and just to throw them away, burn them, whatever we wanted to do with them.

Is Louisville the only division wearing the bright blue polo shirts? The color is rather "strident" and the cloth material has a sorta weird "silky" feel. Not a regular professional-looking type of polo shirt. These polo shirts tend to "hang" on your body, and they are rather unflattering to anyone that is even slightly overweight, as they seem to exaggerate the weight.......the shirts make your stomach (belly) area look even larger than it is. NOT GOOD!! Also, they don't 'want' to tuck in neatly, so most employees wear them untucked. Hard to get the right size. They all look either too small or too large on employees!!!!

Your description is spot on I absolutely despised them from day one. Still had my old black ones and went back to wearing those along with a couple other employees, management hasn't cared/said anything all year .
As far as I know it's CincyDayton only but I could be wrong. Supposedly both customers and employees like it. Or maybe it saves the company money on uniforms.
Alright. So I went to work today, and saw that we are indeed getting the new uniforms... if you can call them that. The dress code was posted on the wall. Apparently we're getting them this week, either tomorrow or Wednesday, or Thursday. Along with a visit from the president (division?)
What I saw the OTHER stores wearing, was mostly the blue vests, and only SOME were wearing the apron (mostly those in the back, the deli people, etc). I asked around in our store whether it's the apron we're getting or the vests (since the dress code letter says we get both) but the managers I asked seem to say apron. I hope we get the vests, cause I don't like the apron.
I've got plenty of jeans, so that won't be a problem. But apparently the shirt you have to wear has to be collard with a solid color. So I guess it can be ANY color? Even pink?! As long as it's solid and has no logos? No V-neck or crew neck T-shirts. But my question is... they allow business casual crew-neck shirts. What the hell do those look like?
Anyways, I think I'm just gonna buy me a couple polo shirts. A white and black one. At least, I get to decide what size shirt I want, which will go with my style. Someone on this thread said that this new uniform code will make us all look unprofessional. Lol, I agree. We're all gonna be looking different. Some of us wearing blue jeans. But at least I won't have to wear the same color pants and shirt everyday. I can now change it up.

Atlanta Division has had the blue polo shirts for a long time. The fabric is terrible. I wish we'd go to a 'solid color shirt' because I'd start wearing blue dress shirts since I'm a Department Head, I'd find that completely more comfortable than the shirts that are issued now. I am overweight, not by much, but the shirt certainly highlights it. And can't tuck it in because it's too short (I'm tall), and the next size shirt is WAY too big. I'd still wear black dress pants or go to khakis too, not wearing jeans. I don't even wear jeans outside of work.
We're all getting aprons and smocks. But the vests are out of stock right now, so we get none. Shame, I love the way the vests look. Heh. Guess I'll have to wait and settle for the apron.
Also, apparently, there's a coupon that's gonna be loaded onto our associate plus cards that will save us 50% off the clothes we need to buy. My only question is, where are we supposed to buy these clothes for this coupon to work? Our store doesn't even sell clothes!

Someone suggested a "silky" feel, but to me they're itchy. We've had ours for a few months now and some peoples' are starting to look a bit dingy. As far as the sizes are concerned, I'm not sure why they always have to get such bizarre sizes. I remember always having trouble finding the khaki pants that would be long enough and not snug around the waist as a smaller fellow, but then there'd be some size 52 waist pants in the closet. WTF? These blue polos aren't the worst we've had though, I'm just curious who thought of the blue. I liked the dark blue (wal-mart-esque) shade.

It's been a few days now, and people are not wearing SOLID color COLLARD shirts. No... they're wearing T-shirts with logos on them. Or collard shirts, but they're PLAID. Some are wearing regular T-shirts with the old black vests on them. A few are wearing jackets that completely cover their aprons and name tags. Some are still just wearing the old blue collard shirts. Oh, and my favorite, a few people are not wearing ANY part of the new uniform code AT ALL. They're wearing T-shirts (with brand logos on them and other graphics) and the only thing that would clue you in that they work here is their name tag, if they're even wearing one at ALL!

Since some associates never want to wear the "standard" uniform, why not make a mixture of shirts, pants and other items available to associates? If you think of a majority of companies, you see workers wearing different shirts, banks, jackets, but all with the company logos. If you want to eliminate the uniform expense, establish a online uniform store, when associates can order additional items after they are given the basic items at time of hiring. If an associates would like additional items they need to pay for the items and with every hour/week of work they are given $$ that allows them to then purchase other uniform items. You allow the associates some freedom to express themselves, but also curate the different items and minimize the expense.
Like I said in an earlier post, is the company going to give $$ when associates rip their clothing from a failure of company product/equipment?
