You ever get those times when a random customer you don't even know walks by you and says "thanks for your help" in a sarcastic tone. But really they're saying **** you, because they think you deliberately did not help them. When in reality, you had no idea of their existence because you had other customers to help.

No but I had a lady run over my foot with a cart. When I said excuse me sorry I was in your way. She replayed oh so this is how I get your attention. I was stalking shelves it was a holiday Weekend. I normallh bend over backwards for customers it that day I wasnt digging out her sale priced coffee.

All the time. But I figure if they have that attitude and none of the other peeps I'm working with is willing to be more observant in the department, to assist them while I'm busy. Then I take it as, it was just not meant to be for that person that day.

I know that is not the best attitude to have, but I swear some days in the deli I really wonder what some folks do for brains. I mean I could be damn near helping 2 customers at once. And still have to answer the phone when it's ringing AND try and soothe impatient customers, while some are going about whatever and not really paying attention. Just what makes it worse is if the DH is going by, even HE'LL be like "hey, (insert my name here), can you grab that customer over there?" It's like dude I'm already juggling a few at the counter, one is still on hold on the phone, and yet someone else can't grab the next person? Really?

You mean stocking.  Stalking is what predators do.

It happens all the time.  It's sort of like asking for them to do the survey they push everyone to do.  Then they give a half assed reply that says "**** you i'll never do it."

Stalking is also what some HR managers do to the young new hires we have. It is so sad that the one person whose primary task is to limit Kroger's exposure to liability is the one creating so much potential for it.

Yeah I had that happen to me as well...and someone else who used to work for Kroger had to deal with someone actually trying to pin them down with their cart.  I didn't say anything because if I would of I would of been fired that day for sure (then again it might have been a good idea to get fired to find better work).

We are so short staffed, overworked and mentally exhausted in our store that the employees pretty much as a whole just completely ignore the customers now unless the customer initiates the contact.  Not by intention but there is just so damn much work to do.  The co-manager that does the hiring is on a register for at least half of her shift so she claims she doesn't have time to call people.  We have a new store manager, who is a nice guy, but is more by the book than our former store manager so a lot of people quit and they haven't replaced them.  Our OSAT score hovers between the 40's and the 50's.  Corporate can't really be worried about customer satisfaction or they would at least make an attempt to staff their stores where they could function properly.

My response if I feel someone is being this way, " Your completely welcome, please let me know when I can help you again". I have learned to pick your battles, but will always give someone being ****ty to me a ****ty response (one they cant really complain about). I think OSAT while important, has been lowered in importance because of cost savings and staffing issues. Plus, it has been highly noted only customer with complaints will do the survey and compliments will be given verbally/letter written to the associates/store manager. If you look at your stores demographic, you will most likely do something to make another demographic upset. You eliminated the Natures Market section because non-organic people want the option, you piss off the only-organic customer because they now have to walk more. You eliminated the single serve items for family/value sized items, which makes the 1 person households mad. The only stores that seem to have higher OSAT are the non-urban, rural stores where the stores cater to family living (the customers are just happy the store is there).
