We carry those candles as part of our regular stock-- they're not a holiday special item-- so I wouldn't expect it to work. Possibly the candles/wax melts we got as part of our holiday stock, perhaps not. Unfortunately, we don't have a handy guide to what works and what doesn't work.
I was testing things today to see if they were part of the sale by taking them to a register and ringing them up, because as far as I can tell there's no better way.
Also, if your Kroger is like ours, we never got more of the tiny free candles in.
