Seen 2 managers immediately moved to another store. One idk why he was very nice best manager we ever had. Then one was just plain out mean employees set him up. To be fired or moved.
They don't get fired very often (at least in the past). If they aren't doing that great of a job, they might get moved to a slower store and or get put on a six month "plan" to try and improve performance. If they still aren't doing that great they could be fired then but usually have made the decision to find employment elsewhere before being fired. I don't know, but based on what I've heard it is made pretty clear that the job is coming to an end and they should be looking. They actually get to be crappy for quite a while before they get fired for performance.
The only ones I know that have been fired without any warning were doing something really wrong. One was actually caught (on camera) taking groceries out of the store at night without paying. From what I understand this person tried to deny it and said they had left money to cover it but the video proved otherwise. Not for sure how they caught on to the manager, but apparently he had stolen groceries before and it was all on video. This particular person came from outside Kroger's in one of their buyouts. They were a store manager, or store leader, or whatever the main manager is called in the other company and was hired into Kroger to take one over. How stupid can you be to steal when you know they have video cameras watching you? Guess the other company didn't have video and this person got away with it at the other store.
We had one fired. They made up some bull reason, but it was really because he was banging our union rep's wife lol. A previous meat manager was also terminated for sleeping with her.
