Kroger brand veggie burger patties?

Why?  There are plenty of strange recipes out there for you to try out using fresh ingredients.  No rat droppings, roach parts, dirt or soft plastic and not stored frozen (we hope) in a warehouse for months.

People nowadays are eating less meat and going for meatless protein options its just Kroger hopping on the bandwagon. I have had a veggie burger every once in a while for a quick dinner option, they're alright. Never tried Kroger's though so idk how they are.

I don't understand this meat-less trend in today's society. There's nothing that can replace the awesomeness of a juicy tender steak or wild caught atlantic salmon.

 Couldnt agree more. I made the mistake of trying a meatless steak once. Looked just like an actual steak and was SUPPOSED to taste as such. at least that is what it said on the package. It was on sale so i bought it and cooked it up at home. Took one taste and NEVER again. so i gave the rest to my dog who usually would eat anything (within certain limits). He sniffed at it and gave it a lick and then backed up growling at it. He actually GROWLED AT THE STEAK! I knew then that it was not ANYTHING like it said on the package, and no it wasn't spoiled. I tossed it out not too worried about the money loss because it was on sale. I mentioned it to my uncle and he said that it NEVER tastes like what they say it does. It is not supposed to technically. Why would it? They call it MEATLESS for a reason. Its SUPPOSED to taste like that.

I mean come on though. I've had veggie meats before and while they are not the greatest, one i had tasted like a fruit/veggie mix...wasns't the best but it wasn't bad either. This steak tasted horrible. Like some sort of soy grainy veggie paste. oh, well I guess if you've eaten them your whole life you get use to the taste after a while.

It's healthier for you. A meat-heavy diet has been medically proven to raise your risk for a number of diseases/health issues over time.

IF people followed the "enjoy in moderation" rule it wouldn't be as big of an issue but a lot of people don't; plus we're already getting too much salt, fat and cholesterol in all the other highly processed foods that we eat day to day that even in moderation meat hits our bodies harder than it otherwise would.

The Meat industry is also ruining the planet. The Rainforests are clear-cut and burned down so people can raise cattle and thats a pretty huge issue. There are a ton of species living there many probably undiscovered. The Amazon provides 20% of the planet's oxygen and takes a ton of CO2 out of the atmosphere. Also cattle supposedly produce more greenhouse gasses than all the cars on the road combined. Thats a real lot of damage, it causes a lot of pollution and takes a ton of resources and heavy use of antibiotics is creating super-bugs that are resistant to antibiotics which is a threat to people. This all is going to affect everyone down the line and kill people. Pretty sure not eating burgers doesnt kill people though.

 Well, then I guess it's a good thing we eat them then.  We certainly don't want all those cow farts polluting the atmosphere.  Anyway, the statement about about the cattle may or may not be true.  What they don't tell you is it's probably true of other species as well, including humans.  It's not always what they tell you.  It's what they choose not to tell you.

So "God" wants you to get cancer, clog your arteries so you have a heart attack and have high blood pressure so you'll have a stroke.

If I want a big old burger or a nice med rare steak I'm gonna eat it with a big old smile. And if someone tells me that its cruel and I shouldn't I'll just smile and say this burger/steak tastes soooo good. (Probably gonna get me in a fight one day)

That's fine. Nobody is saying you can't eat what you want.

However, there is a reason Kroger can't keep products like "Beyond Meat" veggie burgers in stock.. the demand is high and even fast foods like Burger King are offering veggie burgers now because of the popularity. People want to eat something that tastes like meat without as many of the negative health effects that come it. It's pretty simple to see the appeal.

 Well, you don't have to replace it. If it's not for you then it's not for you. There's enough room on the shelves for everything. 

I've been a vegetarian for 17 years now and I'm really enjoying the improvements that have been made with meatless meat in the last few years. Back when I became a vegetarian, the only type of "burgers" were the black bean burgers every vegetarian brand was making, I hated those and so I thought I hated veggie burgers. But now they've improved so much that I have a few brands that I crave. 

Eat what you want to eat. Just be respectful when people have a different diet than you. That goes for both meat eaters and vegetarians.

I might not be the best person to ask because I haven't had meat in such a long time, but I think the beyond meat and impossible burgers are pretty close. In fact, the first time I had the impossible burger from red robins, I was a little put off because it was a bit too realistic.  There's a brand of fake chicken I get that tastes pretty darn close to real chicken too. They're definitely a lot closer to real meat than they were back when I first started out.

The Impossible Burger is supposedly different and tastes the most like meat because of a process using genetically engineered yeast that produces the type of Iron that makes meat taste like meat which is Heme Iron which they add into it. I have yet to have it but according to the company, it is going to be coming to stores in the near future. Ive seen people claim it does indeed taste like meat. Im hoping to try it myself. Of course no one has to eat any meat replacement and can choose to eat what they want but for those that like them, the options are only becoming better and even meat lovers like them now.

 Those are those veggie burgers that are suppose to look like they have blood running out of them.  No thank you.

 Sometimes vegetarians just want something that tastes good and is bad for you, just like anyone else. The people who are non gmo will avoid it.

I tried an Impossible Whopper a few days ago.

More than anything, it reminded me of the crappy half-soy burgers served in public school.  It's not quite passable as a real burger unless cheese, sauce and drunkenness are involved, but it's much closer than blatant frauds like Boca burgers and such.

Checked out the Kroger fake chorizos and the ingredients were like water, gluten, some kind of grain protein, oil and salt.  Don't know if I want to try these expensive dogs out.  The package says to fry in oil.
