I just got hired at a Kroger near my house part-time! I am really excited about it! It'll be a 2nd job! What should I expect? They were really enthusiastic about hiring me on!
It really depends what you were hired to do but as far as general advice - treat it like a job and don't get sucked into the culture. The people who are there for a while will tend to be quite cynical.
The advice I tend to remember most is "Work hard for the first 90 days then after that just coast along".

Don't count on more than 20 hrs a week. You could go full time but you might regret it. You'll love or lump it. I loved it, hated it, rued it and now I think something is broken inside of me.

Expect to be used all over the store. From bagging items to getting carts to help with cashiering or click list maybe some conditioning maybe cleaning sh!t off the walls in the womans bathroom. Enjoy!!
A jobs a job! I gotta feed my family. They gave me the schedule I wanted of 5pm until midnight. If I can survive walmart I can survive kroger :0
This company is 5x worse than Walmart hands down. Only saving grace is we have a union and you can use that to get away with pretty much anything and still keep your job. Make no mistake they will place you wherever they desire doesnt matter what you were hired for. And expect your schedule to get totally screwed from time to time
