Yay!

The truth about chaos in Kroger stores, hours being cut, etc, finally has hit a relatively "big time" business news outlet..........  This article was written by a reporter who must have made contact with some  REAL , ORDINARY  store-level Kroger employees who told them some truth - without sugar-coating it via the standard phony Kroger Talking Points which were previously issued to, and reported by, the mainstream Media.

I love how Kroger spins this as wanting to keep things "close to the customer" and other warm fuzzies when its obvious all these layoffs arent having a good affect. If you dont give enough hours to people and dont pay them well they arent going to give good customer service. No hours means less people to do the work and help customers and things like restock shelves and make sure everything is fresh. If I didnt work for Kroger, Id say hearing this would make me think they are in financial trouble too. Sadly I can only see things getting worse.

I read the article and I can smell the BS all the way down here in the Local 1996 Atlanta GA area. This crap of "keeping resources close to the customer" is just PR speak. If Kroger doesn't have the money, why are they spending it on failed customer service programs such as "Feed the Human Spirit", on line ordering and in-store pickup? We are very short staffed in our store and we are going to have to "import" employees from OTHER stores in order to staff our in-store pickup area which is currently being built. This other BS about eliminating hunger and waste by 2025 is just a pie in the sky dream. How about focusing on the EMPLOYEES who staff your stores and make the company successful?!? If you don't have enough people to staff your store, NO ONE will be "close to the customer!"

 Why the concern?  Are you the "Word Police"?   The word "Breadwinner" is a perfectly ordinary word in the English language. This may come as a shock to you, but there are probably gobs of words in the English language you might not be that familiar with, just because you don't hear them much within your own circle of friends, so you might think it as odd,  old-fashioned, out-dated  or nerdy.  But , it's OK.  No harm done.   

BTW this word has been used since at least 1821, and basically means "Whoever is the primary source of income within a household".

Yeah, and i don't know wtf "MGTOW" douchebags have to do with it.... the term breadwinner is not sexist. There are plenty of people who have 2 income households, where the woman makes more than the man... i don't think it's a problem anymore...

More than 10,000 hourly positions open. That I believe. Several stores cant fill positions because they cant get people to work there.

 We just had a hiring event in our store today (Local 1996 Atlanta GA area) last time we had a hiring event we got  6 applications, 4 didn't pass the background check, 1 changed their mind and one was hired-but the hire decided not to follow thru and work in our store and said they got a job elsewhere!
