1. "Oh we need to make a display, grab the table people eat off of and put a sign next to it and there's your display!"
2. "Oh we need to make a display for special holidays like Valentines day, grab the tables from the break room, the tables from the dining area, and make your display!" "No one cant sit anywhere? WHO CARES!?"
3. Until about 4 in the afternoon, there's only going to be about 1 cashier - It's never busy throughout the day anyway.
4. Let's add more self-checkout stands than actual checker lanes. People have better IPM than checkers anyway.
1. During the MAJOR Holiday seasons let's schedule LESS than the bare minimum for help. Yes, we know the lines are meshing into one another, yes we are aware of the insanely long line to get into another line for a checkstand.
2. We are cutting hours during the major holiday season because we want to make bonus. No, not for you, for upper management. Don't like it? Resignation papers are in the office. Sign them and leave.
1. Hours have been cut period. This started a few years ago and it's getting worse. It's only pissing customers off rather than assisting them in the front end. Kroger rolls out all these useless programs when they need to bring back assistance to the front end.
2. All stores in my area have only 1 cashier and push 90% customer attendance through self check like it or not. It's really simple people are just stupid and choose to ignore and be disobedient to the machines rather than listen to the instructions.
3. Company spends millions on useless programs like feed the human spirit then have workers strike because they're pissed with the unsatisfactory working conditions.
4. Store safety programs are a joke. I see hundreds of violations a day and no one give a **** then they sweep the incident under the rug when something happens.
5. My store has a tone of employee issues and they do diddly squat to fix the issues. I hate to say it but I've never used Kroger Ethics Hotline so much because I'm tired of all the b.s. I'm having to endure. Other companies I've worked for fire people for this bull sh-it.
6. Human spirit is really low in all the stores. Gee I wonder why? Minimum wage. 6+ years at a full 40 to even see a pay raise and that's if they don't fluff your hours. You get treated like garbage from the customers and get treated even worse from your company.
3. They change your availability. And when you change it back, they open it back up. Work only your availability despite the unauthorized change? You've committed a deadly sin.
4. RARELY have the schedule up online (at least at my.store). Why even have the site, if you're not going to utilize it?
5. Go through a major deep clean of the store 1 day in advance of a huge corporate visit.

I have availability that was fully approved and what not. A manager kept scheduling me outside of it though and was shocked when I wouldn't work outside of my availability each time. She told me "I feel like you aren't a team player!"

Did you tell her that being a team player works both ways?
We usually have donations (competitions) for needy families for meals. Well, now they want us to hand out flyers outside, in addition to the numerous flyers on the checkstands, that are placed in bags, on the entrance doors, also with us asking and being forced to make announcements over the voycall evry 10 min. They even "jokingly" (seriously) assigned us a 'competitor' to see who can make the highest donations.
If we dont want to compete, or not make the assigned goal, we d@mn well better have a GOOD reason as to why not.
If we say that we want to treat it as it's meant to be, donations and we get what we get, we better prepare for hellfire and corporate rage coming our way.

I did, but she's hard to talk to. Either she's willfully obtuse or just too self involved to really listen to anyone else. Sometimes you can tell your words are going in one ear and out the other.
