An old guy I work with told me that the company can take away your stuff, like if you win the lottery or something they will just take it because you were an employee.
I asked the hr person about it and got no denial just evasion and asking me stuff. Now they want to know who I was talking to and all of the managers are acting different like trying to listen in.
It probably is a troll post. But in case it isnt, they cannot take your assets in the company. Once you reach retirement age, you get any money owed to you. Taking your assets in the company for winning the lottery is just plain stupid. Lottery winnings and company assets earned throughout your career with the company are two totally different things.

I was under retirement age and still got my retirement. Yes I paid a penalty but it is worth it because I got out. And I think I will get some back come tax time.

I won't ask again but could they do that?
In the cincy/Dayton district, there was a few comanagers who would put items into employees bags or purses, accuse them of stealing then fire them.
I saw this happen to 2 people who were less than 1 year away from retirement. This may be a troll, but guys, protect yourselves. The company would steal your assets if it could
This to me, has happened too much to not be some type of quiet training, or encourage by corporate.
Remmeber
Protect yourself
Protect your stuff
Protect your income
Then after all that, you can start to consider doing your job. ****ed up world.

How can you take retirement when you still work there?
Legally that would be theft. You must have a court order saying you have nothing to give to any one who is demanding compensation. Otherwise it's clear theft. Most people have insurance and must go after that first. This is clear theft. He can be tried for a crime and should be tress passed.

That was a terrible bad attempt at trolling... hes right though why tell lies? You didnt retire, youre still there. you dont even qualify for retirement with the job title you have.
A quick search using terms like 'Kroger vs' does not immediately reveal litigation along these lines. Similar searches in finra.org don't reveal arbitrations. Not sure how Kroger could hide such actions.
