Weekly evaluations at the front end of the location I currently work at stopped

I work as a cashier, and for several months the baggers/courtesy clerks and cashiers were evaluated on a weekly basis.

But all of a sudden this stopped.

Except nothing really changed at the front-end.

Why does Kroger do that?

It most likely stopped when the District FE position was eliminated. Like everything else, if its something someone is forcing you to do, its gone when the priority changes. You can only tell an associate they need to improve their speed, engagement so many times. You can teach someone to do a task, you can teach someone best practices, you cant them to speed up or get them to talk unless they made a change.

 Getting rid of cashiers to put more self check outs. No need for evaluations when terminations are incoming in the future

The stores are so short handed cashiers will be moved to other positions.

I wouldnt mind trying something else. I know that eventually thats gonna happen, only problem is my physical difficulties which keeps me from doing stuff other than cashiering but it doesnt matter much in my case now that Im a Self Checkout Cashier.

I find evaluations are really one sided. If they don't like you it's hell and completely against you not hr professional.
