I have never heard of this type of situation happening where an FES was "asked to leave" (as it was told to me tonight) our store but was NOT outright fired. There WERE a lot of complaints about how he wrote our schedules though.

Being moved is typically a management thing. They probably couldn't fire them outright because they were within Kroger's guidelines for the supervisor role: Scheduling under elms, not overtly hostile, ect. They were probably told to accept the transfer or be put on suspension pending.

In my district it's very common for department heads to be transferred, i've worked in 3 different stores in 3 years.

Usually when they're "asked to leave" but not fired, it's for some ethical thing. We had a co-manager who was openly dating one of his subordinates (the Starbucks lead) be "asked to leave" for another store that was 1 hour away with tolls in between.

I had a coworker transfer in from another store. I think he was asked to leave after they realized he was pretty much an @$$ hole to customers.

We had a front end manager that was having an inappropriate relationship with a courtesy clerk, who was a minor.
The FEM was transferred to a different store, in our district. The cc's parents chose not to press charges against the FEM.

I also found out from a co worker that he "had someone else making out his schedule now" (direct quite)-he also lost his management/FES status and is now a "regular" cashier at another store.

We had a cashier come from another store. He transfers every 3-5 years to not deal with drama. He's a bit rough with the customers and kind of an a-ss hole. He's had several customer complaints and has been suspended a time or two. I'm beginning to think he was asked to leave.

At my last store a courtesy clerk (elderly man working for insurance) was unpleasant to deal with he made every one feel uncomfortable. He started making sexual slurs and references to staff and it crossed a line when customers complained. He got asked to leave to another store.

An AFEM politely disagreed with the physically impossible demands of an abusive store manager and suggested reasonable alternatives.

That was a mistake.

He went out of his way to block her promotion and suggested she transfer stores to gain more XP.

Then he blocked her transfer for 6 months and then made sure she could only transfer to a bad store.

She wasn't fired as such, but it would have been better if she was.

I know this is a bit old but our closing cashier is sort of a mean little rude d-i-c-k and was finally suspended and is under investigation. He's been suspended twice already but one was declared a paper work clerical error due to lies presented against him. We don't think he's coming back because it's been four weeks and he's been removed from the schedule. God let him be gone for good. He was suck a rude @$$ hole.
