Between grab and go, clicklist, getting remote orders for pickup, etc, when are we supposed to get anything else done? Plus they reduced us to a skeleton crew. Grab and go alone takes hours and if you ever get a clicklist while you're doing it, good luck ever catching up.
Yep, my store runs it's deli most days on 2 morning people and 2 closers. It never used to be that way several years ago.
Today they wanted us to get ready for a corporate visit tomorrow with me by myself in bakery and only 2 people all day in the deli.
That's ridiculous. Then they scream at you that you need to get things done faster. Our manager seems to think that grab and go should take an hour total. Completely unrealistic. One time he was yelling at me about it and I told him he should do it himself sometime to see how long it really takes. Or course he didn't.

It's going to get worse because Rodney once again didn't meet his 3rd quarter projections - so more work will be loaded up on you and perfection is required or else. It's already hitting the SMs and ASMs. Perfection or get out. "We don't care if you have to run all the dept all by yourself"..
Oh here's something fun that happened to me yesterday. Me and one coworker were alone in the deli besides the department head (she rarely helps with anything) and I was working on grab and go and a 10+ item clicklist and after that she wanted me to make subs. Coworker was trying to manage the line of customers.
Anyway the department head rushed over with an order she had just taken for 6 trays due soon. We're not supposed to take orders unless it's 24 hours in advance but we're also not allowed to enforce it. I had just finished clicklist and needed to use the bathroom. When I came back from the bathroom she was shrieking at me that I needed to get the order done now now now and how dare I need to use the bathroom when there's so many trays that need to be done. She acted like it was somehow my fault that she took the orders. Sorry lady but I'm not being paid enough not to use the bathroom. I didn't know we were Amazon now. I finished the trays but not grab and go and so I got yelled at anyway.
I feel especially bad dropping off sometimes almost 20+ deli service counter orders (with varying amounts of special instructions/quantities) for ClickList for Wave 1 at 5:00AM in the morning on a Sunday. I try to be respectful and say thank you and I appreciate it but I know those are just words and that it sucks. Deli probably does 100+ service counter orders for us on average on Sunday between the lunch meat/cheeses & hot foods.
Same here except we have to train a couple of new hires. Glad to have them but sorry they have sunk to this. If everything that gets done multi-tasking style is done badly we can just do it again later, right? Sorry for the customers.
I feel you. In our deli, not only do we need to keep our hot cases Fresh and Ready, we need to make sure the cold items are as well. Not to mention our self serve/grab-n-go items as well. Add making sure our equipment is clean and sanitized, trash emptied, floor swept, etc.. oh yeah... and all that on top of a surprise visit from corporate on a sale day, in addition to a skeleton crew in the deli
