WHY is it that when a complaint is filed thu the Union it takes *forever* for all parties to get together for a meeting-and even then nothing is done? Our ASM who is also our HR person only got a verbal warning and a note placed in her file-but Kroger can right away lay off tons of ASM's?!? What are Kroger's parameters for the ASM layoffs?
There didn't seem to be parameters for the last round. Some good managers were kept and some good ones were fired. Some bad managers stayed on and some bad ones got fired. One ASM who yells at, belittles people, and who does nothing kept her job. She is driving people out the door and is pretty much hated by everyone. However, she hangs out with people from corporate and I guess that is why she is still there. Fingers crossed she goes in the next round of firings.
Because management is not union. Kroger can fire them on the spot.
So managers are NOT allowed to join the Union?
Right. There's management and there's labor. That's why they're called labor unions. Personally, I think there should be a different set of checks and balances. I think it's nice that a union member can't be fired arbitrarilly, but you have to admit there are some workers that need to be fired and aren't because they're protected by the union.

What if a MANAGER had a grievance? Where do THEY go for redress? Can they approach the Union?
You do not use an apostrophe to make a plural with ordinary words. The words should be unions and sissies. Also, a week is seven days. The proper spelling is weak.
