Kroger will never give us these things. They'd rather spend their money on stupid Krojis than actually give some to employees. Most other companies are no better either. Im sure Publix isnt great either.
Before anything can be fixed, the HIGH Ups would need to admit there is a problem. But that would mean they would have to basically bypass all Division Leadership to actually get the truth. All levels outside the store cant admit to something being wrong, since that would mean they are unable to perform their job objectives.

What do you mean the union contact says we can't strike? We in the Local 1996 Atlanta GA area came thisclose on our last union contact negotiation. 2 failed votes to renew and on the third it finally squeaked thru. Our Union rep said that "Kroger didn't want a strike"-we talked several weeks ago, said if there was one we would lose aprox 3 pecent of market share and customers would go to other grocery stores and it would take about 10 years to recover that.

Exactly. So they tend to use store management as the scapegoates and go through them left and right. Eventually it will catch up to them though as it has a little in D1Nashville where they stepped down two vp and a president "retired" For some terrible reason they left the toxic lying DM though
Company is so low down and sneaky I have no hope for it. My union filed a complaint regarding intimidation and secretly forbidding us to communicate with each other last time we negotiated a contract. Thanks for the token response, UFCW. Law enforcement agencies all over the country know how bad the company is yet treat it like a personal friend. Please don't shop at or work for these companies.
Better safety at night (we don't always have police officers coming in on a regular basis like they used to)
Being more aggressive in dealing with problem customers who shoplift (why won't Kroger prosecute like Publlix does?) or call our cashiers racial names
Addressing the FLOOD (at least in the Local 1996 Atlanta GA area) of GOOD managers quitting the company-leaving us with the dregs

I've been wondering about this kind of thing for a while, though. Is there any way for an associate to directly contact corporate? I'd love to write them an email (and not an angry one they wouldn't take seriously) of the problems I've seen in the last ten years that have only become steadily worse, just to see if they'd respond at all.
