I have been working for Kroger about 7 years, and about 5 years ago got a job level that is guaranteed 40 hours unless I am demoted. I looked up my eschedual and at the end of the month I only have 16 hours! I havent been demoted or told to step down, and nobody is giving me answers. Even if i was demoted without being informed, there are several in department with less seniority than me. People who only want the job to have spending money . No reason I should have a mere 16. Any ideas on what I should do apart from spamming the Union with calls?
Call the union and file a grievance if you think you were full time. That is why you pay union dues. You are wasting your time posting on this site looking for answers.
Most full time employees are guaranteed 40 hours a week. It is possible to lose full time position here if you called in too many times in a certain period of time.
There are some contracts that allow full time employees to be cut to 32 hours a week if business is really slow.

Store can give employees any hours it needs to function. A full 40 isn't guaranteed nor contracted to be guaranteed. I would suggest giving your union rep a call because sometimes cutting hours can also be interpreted as a retaliation. The only department in which a full 40 is guaranteed is meat. Everyone else is classified as part time which means they do not have to give you a full 40.
I'm part time and I was cut to 8 hours this entire month. I have another job but still.
Most contracts have a minimum amount of hours they must give you.
I think they must give part timers 12 hours a week here. I have seen where a cashier was given 0 hours one week and 12 hours the next. They aren't able to file for underemployment that way.
I heard of another part time employee that demanded in writing that they get 36 hours a week per the union contract.
Speak to your union rep to see if you are eligible to get more hours.

depends on the contract. in UFCW 1996 you can be a regular clerk and earn full time status after 40 hours or more for something like 12 weeks and it can only be taken away by the reverse unless you quit or something
that said the poster mentioned looking on eschedule online probably on feed. it doesn't always accurately tell you how many hours you are getting some types of shifts outside your normal situation don't be counted in the hours shown. I think some of those are MOD shifts, personal days, maybe training hours too. It's better to look at the individual days and add those.
