 OK, I stand corrected........the original (first recording) was by the Will-O-bees in 1968. (Never even heard of them until now    About a year later Cass Elliot (of the Mamas and the Papas) recorded it, but it was a bigger hit for her, so I think of it as "the" original.

 Yeah, I think that's it. Actually, she sounds better here on Youtube............but my store's audio quality has never been that good, and makes almost every song sound worse than they are.
