What is your store's policy on handling customers who talk in an abusive manner to the cashiers and front end people? Does management get involved? They are reluctant to do that in my store except for the time a cashier got called the "N" word and the manager told the customer to leave.

We had a similar issue although the old ass white man who called our cashier that and she let him have it right back. manager came over and told the cashier to apologize even after he called her a nig. Cashier refused to apologize. glad she did too!

At our store if he would have called that to one of our cashiers, he would have been kicked out. The checker would have been told to take a break" then spoken to, in order to let management know to call if the customer came back into the store and not to confront him.
That's one thing we DO NOT tolerate. Abusive customers. Take your money elsewhere and be sure to let the door hit you on the way out.
You can refuse service. Just don't do it too much to the point where it's questionable. Our last cashier did that and it was one of the things he eventually got fired for. In the case of a special situation it can be handled differently. If management doesn't do sh-it about it you can file an ethics report. That sure the hell woke my manager up and finally acknowledged the situation.
We have to take it. We have one customer that would hit on all the females including the manager. He repeatedly asked a cashier with gauges that what will fit in those holes then upgraded to I want to **** your ear holes. Baggers were just told to be careful taking out his groceries.
My sister would have been fired. The moment he tried to put the moves on her, she would have kicked him in the b@lls or her husband would have beat his ass.
Who thought of that stupid @ss policy anyway? So what if you would have "lost a customer?" At least it would have saved his @ss from being kickd.
Hell no! I would have escorted them out the door. And if they tried to swing on me, let's just say, they'd see what the floor looked like up close and personal.
Style makes all the difference. Dress nice and act like you are a big shot and don't use crude language you can really mess with people who work for the company. Do anything to make the customer experience worse and you get escorted out. Kroger is mostly a swindle, not a mugging. Mostly.
