Anyone got smart safes installed in their stores? Basically a safe that takes work away from accounting and has cashiers sign in and out with fingerprint scanner
I've read about them. it looks like cashiers would check out their till cash and do loans and pickups through the smart safe. I don't know why this is a good idea given quevision and wait time goals at kroger.
Krogers used to have CAST systems where a cashier would check a clean till out. Kroger moved from cashier to lane accountability years ago. This would go back to cashier accountability.
Not all the stores have an obvious place for a smart safe near the registers with all the machines we have now plus there's definitely stores where registers and guest care aren't really close to each other.
It would be nice our fes is never present in the front end and always wonders away from the front end. Management won't write him up for refusing to do his job duties. Wait they did it just took cooperate to do it. We generally end up paging for the book keeper or manager for front end assistance. Where's our fes at the time? Down an isle chatting to a customer or assisting with replenishment clerks.

This must be a joke! Did you mean, "assisting a customer or chatting with replenishment clerks"? Even that I am not sure about. I can't remember seeing a replenishment clerk actually replenishing. Unless you count water as replenishment. Even then, there isn't much water to replenish at the moment. I am sure replenishment happens at some stores but rare at my store.
