What is Kroger's policy on call-outs during virus situation?

I had to call out on Sunday and I was told if I had to call out a second day I would have to have a doctor's note to come back. I thought if you were out 3 straight days then you had to have a doctor's OK to return to work. I told my manager that I could not afford to go to the doctor and I asked him if he wanted me to come in sick since he said "we really need you." I offered to work 4 hours. He then backed down. Anyone have similar experiences during this virus time?

This is the policy:

Check your email.  My union sent an email explaining Covid-19 attendance.

You should not need an doctors' note for two days in a row.  Ask your union rep for the answer that applies to you.  I don't call in so I don't know the rules very well...

You can tap into your sick pay on day one. Well depends upon where you are. In my state = yes. Kroger is updating their policy with the virus regularly to allow people to take up to two weeks off without being fired for a long term sickness. You can take as many days as you need for sickness but if you go beyond day three they might start asking questions. It's best to get a dr's note just for job security. It's a bi-t-ch setting half your afternoon aside to get one but it's for job security. Go to an in network care hospital or walk-in clinic. So your hoa covers it. If it goes on more than a week or two you might want short term fmla leave. It doesn't pay but it's better than loosing your job for it. You have resources out there get smart and utilize them.

Original poster here. Checked with my FES-she says the policy is 3 straight days out before you need a doctor's note. She will have the store manager talk to the ASM in question to clarify things!

I have mixed messages. In the past the managers b-i-t-ch-ed up a storm about calling out because it met we were short handed and met that they actually had to do work. Now they're actually sending people home when they come into work sick. Like actually enforcing it this time. But oh wait there's more: this week we had: 1 individual work with the flue and puked all damn day. We had 1 deli worker come into work sick and continued to work sick all week thus contaminating the rest of the staff. We had 2 people test positive for corona virus and hippa is protecting their names so not only did they infect who knows how many they put us at risk too. 1 cashier is out with pneumonia due to the fact the company is giving us zero time off and working us to death. Half our front end is getting 7+ day work weeks and working us to exhaustion.

For the love of god stop asking the following questions:

Do you have any hand sanitizer? No the answer will be fu-ck-en no until the high demand dwindles back to normal.

Do you have any toilet paper? F-u-ck off. If you see it on the shelf we have it. If you don't then we won't have any until the next load.

Do you have click list at your store? No! Stop f-u-ck-en asking. Our store is too low grossing.

Stop asking if we have t.p. in the public restrooms. You idiots used it all while shopping for your hording supply. Why the **** do you need 18 24 count packages when your f'n neighbor has none? Why? Corona doesn't make you sh-i-t.

This is correct. I generally don't get a dr's note until day 2 or three to say hey I'm not lying and abusing the privilege. "cough" sarcastically.
