Management in our store is requiring employees to come to work sick-is that legal?

My store manager is requiring employees to come in sick. I tried to call out yesterday and he told me to call him back in two hours "when you might feel better." Is this even legal? I am in the Local 1996 Atlanta GA area. I ended up coming in because the hassle of calling out wasn't worth it

No, they cannot. If it were me, I simply would have "forgotten" to call in. This is NOT the time to try and force people to work when ill

file a grievance with your union steward. This problem will go away quick. Good way for a manager to get fired.

No never. It's a food safety violation. With covid19 there's a zero work while sick policy right now. If you're illness goes on more than 2-3 days you should get a dr's note for job safety.

You can always file an ethics report or if severe enough an osha violation.

I can vogue for this. I quit Kroger and posted pictures of some food safety issues.

Spent 6 months internally trying to get it to matter. It mattered in less than 3 minutes on Twitter in public.
