No. I still haven't gotten my tax return yet and we filed in early mar. Be aware you need to declare this on your taxes as earned income so be sure to set 10% aside or so.

Declare on taxes?  That stinks.

I have to pay taxes on a loan to myself?

Taxpayer money is paying for this stimulus.  The $2 trillion needs to be paid back somehow.  I will get $1200 and end up paying back $9600 thru taxes.

The stimulus is for $2 trillion and the stimulus checks are $250 billion of it.

From what I read, it's an advancement on next year's tax return. As I never get anything back, I would have to pay it all back.

I get almost nothing back so I too will probably have to pay it all back.  That's still not clear to me.

Your stimulus payment is technically a refundable tax credit, which reduces your 2020 tax bill on a dollar-for-dollar basis. It's like having store credit at your favorite clothing shop: When you apply it to your total bill, it reduces what you owe. In this case, even if you have no tax liability, the government is "refunding" your credit back to you as a cash payment.

The stimulus check is NOT a loan - read this article

STOP it with all the fake news.  The stimulus check is NOT a loan of any kind. You will NOT have to pay any of it back to the government.  There are fake emails, tweets, posts  and articles going around the internet trying to promote these kinds of lies.

Direct deposit $1200.

it would take me at least two months to earn that much after taxes if I was still working for Kroger.

You do not have to pay it back. It's not a loan unless you signed for it. How much you want to bet there will be scammers calling and telling people they have to pay it back. Just like scammers are calling now asking people their bank info telling they they are calling from the IRS to get Stimulus deposit information.

And yes I got my Stimulus Monday morning.

It may not be a standalone repayment we have to make, but I'm sure we will have to repay it in the 'invisible' form of higher taxes over time later on. I'm just glad this is a one-time thing and not monthly like some dem candidates were pushing for even before this virus. But as it stands... yay, parts money for the project car!

For those who haven't received their check yet, and used direct deposit when they filed their taxes this year, the IRS may have discarded your direct deposit information (routing + account numbers). I finally got around to checking the status of my stimulus check at irs.gov and had to reenter that information.

Minimum wage. At $7.25 an hour. With maybe 20-22 hours IF I WAS LUCKY per week. Then those worthless union dues, federal and state taxes.
I had to take a second job near the end of my time with Kroger because I could not maintain a "living wage".

Damn. I'd say moving into grocery would have put you well past that... but it's still Kroger. At least you got out. But if you got out, why do you still hang around here?

Mine finally came. A bit late too. I think my accountant drooped the ball on filing my tax return early. If I don't get my return by the 15th of Apr I generally ask. My taxes are a bit more complicated than a w2.
