Always wondered. I know that Kroger is pushing Kroger pay.

My understanding is that with credit card transactions, the company pays a percentage to Visa or MC, etc. with Apple Pay wed also pay a cut to Apple.

No Apple pay period. If a store has it suspicious and probably a scam artist at work. One day that might change but I doubt it.

Kroger pay is coupled with the Kroger app. Kroger pay is contracted with Samsung. Can't have competitors competition as per an agreement with Samsung.

Actually Kroger Pay is actually a partnership between Kroger and Chase Bank, not Samsung.

Who cares? If you are THAT lazy that you can't pull a credit or debit card out of your wallet and swipe it.....

Its more secure and if you ever forget your wallet or card you can use Apple Pay.

Samsung pay is not officially supported. It only works because it emulates the magnetic signal of a swiped card. Non Samsung devices can not support this since Samsung has a patent and is not licensing their patent to anyone else. https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/what-is/mst/
