They've done this before. Randy Lajoie was sponsored by them for quite awhile in the Grand National series. Won the championship a time or two as well. And here's a pic of an 80's Monte Carlo that Ernie Irvan drove. There were probably others throughout the years, too. But it was about the same scenario as with Stenhouse. Didn't last long.

People still need groceries. The shopping pattern to meet one's food needs isn't helped or hindered by the words 'Kroger' displayed on a car.
There's no market share change with groceries.
Do I suddenly get motivated to head out to Kroger when I see 'Kroger' displayed on a car during the race?
I'm not fat. I eat to live. So my answer is a solid 'hell no'.
If there's an industry that can influence shopping habits of the masses, it isn't a grocery store chain. The rednecks go to the nearest and cheapest grocery store. End of story.

There's some solid points to that. And one has to do what one has to do. A lot of people are like that.
You really think the company paid that much for the rights.......if you noticed.....all the other names listed on the car is CPG's, which Im sure paid the fees.

Sponsors pay for more than having their name on the car. They also pay for part of the team's supplies. Parts to build new.cars.or rebuild, repair or.refresh old.cars, tools for the shop and at.the track, driver and crew uniforms and accessories, basically everything. But considering how Rodney ****in McMullin is, the team would be better off looking for something else.
