That figure is probably an AVERAGE of ALL the workers' pay including lots of Long Time workers who have been at Kroger since the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and are working under better union contracts approved many years ago.   ALSO because of including the employees in states where the cost of living is SKY SKY HIGH and wages are a little higher as well, such as California, OR, WA  and New York.  Of course that average has very little to do with the entry level workers making 7.50 or 8.25 or 9 dollars an hour at the present time.     We know those "15 dollars an hour"  figures are mostly a P R stunt for the media  (and thus,  the uninformed public) who don't know how to do in-depth research.

Stupid Question, why is the Union fighting so hard on "Hero Pay", but didn't fight for anything the last few years? The Union is going to use this issue to basically say they "actually do something" for the next few years.

In the Cincinnati/Dayton KMA they eliminated Uniforms, ok, so now you get to wear out your jeans and shirts rubbing up again pallets, checkouts...... "Associate come as they are" = saving $10 Million a year on uniforms. Installing more SCO's to better the shopper experience = eliminating normal checkouts and less cashiers are needed over time. Having the majority of Meat items come in prepacked = cutting staffing needed for the Meat Department. What is the Union's stance on allowing Delivery orders to be picked my an outside company? Do they have a stance?

OH, if you think Rodney makes too much $$$$ Ask to see how much your Local Union President makes..... the last I checked the Cincinnati/Dayton Union President makes $500k a year. I guess those Union dues really add up to allow Union Exes. to make that much, without any real action outside contact talks. OH.......has anyone had a strike recently? How much $$$ is in the Strike Fund.......I bet ZERO.

Everything the Company and then Union does is PR.........

Been here since '09 and make $19.xx plus the overnight dollar. There are more positions, and higher paying ones, than courtesy clerk and checker, you know.
