The way I think is you get what you pay for. If Kroger were to pay me, say, $25.00 an hour, I'd bust my ass and go above and beyond. No more, no less.
Same if they paid me $5.00 an hour. They'd ONLY get $5.00 worth of work for the legnth of that shift. No more, no less.

I mean i do the same work regardless of pay when it comes to this place. Others can pick up the slack. work smarter not harder!
Losing the hero pay wouldn't bother me if it meant that we weren't required to wear the masks anymore. But if the masks are mandatory then doesn't that suggest that we still need hero pay? Kroger needs to pick one side or the other. You can't have it both ways.
The problem is that Kroger could drop the mask requirement, but local government is still going to require it. So you'd end up with some districts getting bonus pay while others didn't, as states gradually dropped the requirement.
