This will cause a big surge in buying Aunt Jemima brand pancake syrups and other products. HOARDER ALERT!!   GET YOUR SYRUP BOTTLES NOW at your local Kroger before they sell out!

Also, the older, vintage glass bottles from the last few decades are now selling like crazy on ebay. The old glass amber/brown bottles made in the 1950s, 60s,, 70s, and 1980s are selling like hotcakes, but what most people who are selling them and bidding on them DON'T know,  is that those older bottles in the shape of a woman actually held a competing brand, MRS BUTTERWORTHS syrup!!  They are NOT Aunt Jemima bottles. If I'm not mistaken, the Aunt Jemima syrup bottles from the 1960s have a different shape, have a handle, and were made in clear glass, not amber.

I'm sorry but I've always considered the brands pretty racist. Just to be clear, I am white. I grew up with Aunt Jemima. Uncle Ben's, come on people there is a way to represent black people without the racist undertones. How about Mr. Ben or just Ben's? No uncle needed. Read the history people.

Yes, read the history on  the "Real" Aunt Jemima. There have been at least 5 different women who were photographed as the model for the character. the first one was Nancy Green (1834-1923).  Various websites are now arguing about whether or not she ended up later as a millionaire.

What is sad is that some ebay sellers are now coming out of the woodwork and putting up older vintage bottles for sale at a buy-it-now price of over 200 dollars. They are vultures!  And the glass bottles in the shape of a woman (and the current plastic bottles) are not even Aunt Jemima bottles, they are Mrs. Butterworth's!  I guess it doesn't matter, with all the hype they hope to cash in on the craze........

I'm not a fan of fat middle-aged women, and ... lately I can't stand black American culture (not to be confused with race), so I say good riddance.

It's sad news to change the name of Aunt Jemima syrup, pancakes, and other products, getting a new name and logo amid the criticism that its branding perpetuates racist stereotypes. Quaker Oats, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, has been the owner of the 131-year-old Aunt Jemima brand since 1926. It announced Wednesday that the company recognizes that 'Aunt Jemima 's origins are based on  stereotypes.

B-u-l-l-s-h-i-t

It's not a stereotype.  Middle-aged black women are typically morbidly obese...like Aunt Jemima.

They don't exercise and they eat heavy quantities of bacon and ham.

Reparations are the welfare checks that go to unwed black women, free housing in the projects.  Reparations have already taken place.

Did we get responsible behaviors from them?  Of course not, we got more of them plus an attitude with a mix of socialism thrown in.

Do you know of any race that makes a big deal out of having their own museum and an entire month of February dedicated to them?  Black lives no longer matter to me.

Has anyone ever thought that blacks have an...as you say..."attitude" because they've been pissed off their whole lives at the ways they are treated and the f****ed up systems that have screwed them over time and time again??? And I'm WHITE! If I had as many bad things happen as they've had happen to them for years and years, I'd be quite pissed off, too!!! Let's face it...Things are the way they are because A LOT of people, both black AND white, rich AND poor, politicians AND constituents, urbanites AND rural dwellers, etc. (which means pretty much EVERYONE) dropped the ball on what NEEDS to be done a LONG time ago...And that's why we're in the mess we're in!!! People of ALL RACES, though, are finally waking up and realizing that black lives DO INDEED matter and maybe they matter more now than ever! If you're white, you've had privilege...There are things and situations you don't have to deal with because you're white...I've worked with a wide variety of people, but I've always tried to hear things from the viewpoints and perspectives of my black co-workers and friends...Why? How about because their thoughts matter just as much as mine and they SHOULD be heard...Plus, I've learned a lot more from listening than I've ever done talking! They worry about things that you and I don't have to worry about...About living in the city and not knowing whether they might get arrested on a false or trumped-up charge (even for something so minute you or I wouldn't flinch at it) or even go home and not come back to work the next day because something deadly happened to them...Maybe an incident of brutality? Maybe they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and got in the middle of someone else's gunfight? Maybe they couldn't afford better health care so that sickness that was easily treated in the suburban hospital cost someone their life in the urban hospital? They have a lot more fear and much of that fear, sadly, is JUSTIFIED! They make a big deal about having their own museum, because NO ONE ELSE has made a big deal about them...If you had to deal with as much day-to-day crap as they've had to, YOU'D want YOUR own museum, too, just to spotlight all the inequities and bad treatment you've had to stomach...Honestly, as a whole group, they've had to overcome a lot more and they're still not where they should be in terms of just basic dignity and respect...Honestly, because most of us do not give two sh**s about their plight (or at least haven't in the past), it's one reason I am ashamed of my race...Hell, I'm ashamed of the human race in general, but the total apathy I've seen towards what black people have to deal with in this country just makes me want to puke! Truly, WE ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF OURSELVES! We've LET the world get f***ed up because of our inaction, indifference and intolerance and now, it's all coming home to roost with what you're seeing...So, if anyone wants to march, I say let them...I'll support it!!! If this is the America of equality, liberty and justice for all that we believe in, then it's the RIGHT of the aggrieved to have their grievances redressed...You guys belong to a union, so you should know SOMETHING about grievances and getting them redressed...

I don't have a  problem with blacks that are fresh out of Africa.  It's the ones that are 2nd generation and beyond that have adopted the "culture of death" philosophy of life.

They don't get along with their own kind, and yet they follow me everywhere I go to get away from their culture (not to be confused with their race).

They want equal results which is not the same as equal opportunity.

They want socialism which fails everywhere it's been tried.

And most important they live a filthy life -- having sex before marriage and as a result they shoot themselves in the foot with the end result, kids that aren't disciplined and are a pain in public.  Black men are secular.

They mouth off at cops and taunt them when they are consistent drug offenders and they wonder why cops reach their breaking point and just kill them.  Never mind the fact if the shoe were on the other foot, they would kill too.

Growing tired of seeing black people who aren't worth a damn.  Again, it's not their race, but their culture of death choice.

Father's Day has got to be an absolutely painful day of the year for black families.

No one is holding a gun to your head to spread your legs and make babies (from multiple fathers), which creates lasting  interpersonal anguish in black households.

Yes, many of us are the beneficiary of privilege.

The privilege is this:

I had two parents.

They stay married.

They made sure I stayed in school.

They gave moral guidance.

Anyone with this privilege will have a fair shake at life. Anyone. Any race.

But what do black people do?

Well, I don't know what part of the country you guys are from, but I can tell you this...I've worked with quite a few black people as well as Asians, Indians & Pakistanis, Arabic, Chaldean, Eastern European, etc. you name it and at least, many of the ones I've worked with are some of the hardest working, most dependable people in the store, always arriving when their shift starts and doing their part...Sure, I've known some black guys that have made mistakes in the past, but I've known plenty of white guys who are no gift to humanity either...It's how you fess up to those mistakes and do right the next time...THAT'S what counts! I don't see very many "victims" in my day-to-day work, just normal people trying to get somewhere in this world and depending on who they are or where they live, some have a harder time than others...But, they don't let it define them...I'm proud to work with ALL of my co-workers because they ALL have something important to contribute! And all I see when I hear stuff like "they think the world owes them" and that "they're victims" is this...They are working under very unfair, unequal systems that have historically put them on the backburner, scapegoated them and counted them out TIME AND TIME AGAIN...Again, whites have WHITE PRIVILEGE, which means they've never had to worry about unfair treatment due to the color of their skin...They don't deal with it on a day-to-day basis, nor do they ask the same questions or deal with the same issues that the blacks in this country do...If they did or even if they understood the immensity of the problem, they would be out there marching with everyone else...You can only go so long in this world being white and seeing other races consistently targeted, maimed, killed, brutalized, etc. before you say, "Enough is enough! I'm not gonna just idly sit by while these kinds of injustices are happening in the world!"...I mean, how many more lives will be tragically lost before the world FINALLY GETS THE PICTURE???!!! Systemic racism IS going on, has gone on for a very long time and will continue to go on until EVERYONE wakes up to the reality and scope of the problem! And the history books in this country are notoriously to blame, as well as the schools and the teachers...Yes, it's an uncomfortable topic, but if we don't address it as a country, as a world, NOTHING WILL CHANGE!!!

I will say this, though...Although I DON'T agree with the racism, I am so glad that the racism is out there for the world to see so it doesn't stay hidden...You can't overlook what is plain as day in front of your face!!! People need to see what is REALLY going on in this country...With technology and cameras EVERYWHERE, there is NO hiding the truth under the rug anymore...It is all coming out into the open now and people of all faiths, races, ages, nations, and genders are seeing the injustices going down in front of their very eyes and they're getting tired of the BS, cover-ups, and institutions that keep perpetuating their lies...But, the cameras never lie!!! The people are ready for something different...They are ready to see change and come hell or high water, it's coming!!!

Time to pay all that money back for sterrotyping then. what do those ppl call it? reparations!

The problem is Blacks are taught three things from birth:

1. You're a victim.

2. You are not responsible for your actions.

3. The world owes you.

You've known a few blacks who made mistakes but plenty of whites who have done worse. Yeah youre not racist at all... typical
