Masks and cleaning for show

If 30% of store customers choose not to wear masks and we can't kick them out. Then why the hell do we need to wear them? The longer this goes on I'm beginning to see cleaning and masks all for the sole sake of show. Store hours have been cut so badly we don't have time to clean. Forced to wear masks but zero hours for cleaning stores. This was all swell in all for the first three months but the longer this b.s. drags on the less hope I have in it.

And it's not particularly the store's fault, either...Depending on your state and the particular orders of your governor, everyone has to wear them for safety...That doesn't mean everyone WILL wear them, but Kroger is not making the rules here...If other stores and businesses have to wear them, then we ALL have to wear them, like it or not...And unless you want to get sick or until they find a vaccine, my guess is that we're gonna have to KEEP wearing them for some time to come, so it's high time we all get used to it!

this was all about show. just like reducing customer count to 50% of capacity when no store was going to hit that mark.

no one is doing the cleaning. they are open longer hours so none one is there to clean after 9pm or 10pm or probably before 7am.  when was the last time you saw restrooms cleaned 2x per hour or every register and self checkout cleaned between customer use?

it's pretty clear from the data that cleaning is less important than masks and social distancing when it comes to spread

kroger doesn't require customers to wear masks and they've cut staffing hours up front so we'll be back to the summertime long lines while they bitch about making quevision

To add on: our store hours have been reduced and we don't have time to do the fu,ck double duties assigned to us in march. 50% reduced hours and working our @$$es off and being told to do a whole extra individual's job duty.

Many people wear masks just to avoid being fined. They never follow the rules. I don't know what the store can do other than disinfecting with an antiseptic. By the way, do you believe it helps? I myself use standard surgical masks (as a disposable consumable). At home, I added Thomas Wright air purification. I believe it protects better than a sanitizer. But this is not realistic to do in public places.

THANK YOU! I agree 1000%. At our store we will ask people to wear their masks upon entering. We even have disposable masks on hand if needed. If they refuse to wear a mask, even one given to them for free, then they do NOT need to buy their items at our store. Usually customers comply with the request but occasionally we'll get a Karl or Karen who THINKS they know best.

Except, we already found a vaccine. We've never reacted this way to a virus before. If masks work so much, why are nurses getting the virus, despite wearing a mask all day? We aren't going to stop the virus, and quite frankly, I'm done wearing a mask, outside of work! At this point, it is all for show!
