Maybe Inslee's demand will make the 30-40% not wearing masks in kroger stores go down to 15% or less. Maybe kroger will wake up and start denying customers access to the store and start forcing tmep checks. Don't want one due to some b.s. reason bull sh-it this is one of the viruses you shouldn't take lightly. Same with medical excuses. I have a laytex allergy I went and got a 100% cotton mask. So don't argue about it.

Temp checks have already proven to be inaccurate; it'd just be an annoyance. Especially with stories on this very forum of managers not being allowed to let the employee know what their temperature is, Kroger is clearly not interested in enforcing anything. They're big corporate, they just want your labor and the customers' money. Our nation (it's not just the government, we have to take personal responsibility as well) didn't react properly to the initial outbreak of this virus for masks to be worth a damn anymore. As some of the independent news outlets have argued, we should have immediately done a complete and very strict shutdown for a few weeks to force the virus to die off. It's too late, this bug is out there and there's no getting rid of it. It's something that our immune systems are going to have to evolve to deal with itself just like any other common illness. It's going to cost lives, but that's life. Masks should be a choice, and in my opinion it's wrong to force them on anyone now. If I go into a store without a mask and they don't want me there, fine. I'll shop somewhere else. I'm regularly in three cities in two counties throughout my week, I can find another business to support.

Oh, and there are people with problems like asthma who can't wear a mask at all, but somehow those face shields that are inches away from your face are okay substitutes? Why wear anything at all?

Maybe wearing shoes, a shirt and a smile should be a choice to you, too...What if you just walked into a store, ANY store without THOSE THREE THINGS??? How far would it get you??? evileye

Masks are being forced because the NUMBERS are going up, people!!! If the numbers of sick and infected people didn't go up, there would be NO NEED to enforce these rules...But, everyone's eagerness to get their economies going again without following the rules is what has LED us to this disaster!!! no

I know a lot of people who died from covid don't be stupid and take this lightly. Don't say "What I don't see can't harm me." You'll be dead if you think like this.

Do you really? I "know" a lot, too... on the news. All of those people who are dying who are older than the normal death rate, or who have other serious health issues that are slowly killing them on their own.

As for the "no shoes no shirt" law, that's never made sense to me, either. The big one is that it doesn't mention the most important one: pants. But skin is skin, the need for clothing is a social construct. Go to a public pool or beach and people are a-okay with you wearing next to nothing, so what sense does it make to get so worked up anywhere else? My feet and back aren't aren't doing any more damage to an establishment than my exposed hands; or my shoes that are tracking dog ****, dead bugs, and bubble gum everywhere. I choose to wear shoes because I don't like my feet getting stabbed by tiny rocks, and a shirt to avoid sunburn. Maybe if I was the type that cared to stay fantastically fit, I'd go without a shirt more often.

A person I used to work with several years ago recently died while infected with Covid 19.  You'll notice i didn't say she died from Covid 19 but you can bet that that's the official cause of death.  Here's what really killed her.  She was morbidly obese.  We're talking well over 500 lbs. here.  She has several blood clots and one went to her lungs and caused her to develop pneumonia.  That's what killed her, not some virus that justjust happen to come along at the very end.

I'm sorry but one of my Kroger co-workers DIED from the virus...It's affecting employees in various parts of the country, too...Turns out now that younger people are more likely to be catching and spreading this virus, with many of them unaware that they're doing it...

See, THIS is what happens when people CHOOSE to ignore the science in favor of their own self-gratification...As someone else mentioned to me recently, maybe it will clean out the gene pool...Too bad so many were born with the "stupidity gene"... disbelief

It's not that we're choosing to ignore science.  We just believe that we're not getting the entire story.  The Liberal media is constantly showing stories about whole families or whole church congregations testing positive for the virus but they don't try to find out if the people could have caught the virus elsewhere.  The media also doesn't mention about all the family get togethers where no one has come down with the virus.  I'm sure there's a lot more of those than there are of the others.  Also, how come whenever the media decides to show the viewpoint of someone who questions things like social distancing and wearing masks, it's always someone who can't express their thoughts clearly or they act like a buffoon.

Exactly right!!    The mainstream media (98% liberal and anti-conservative) HAS become CORRUPT especially over the last 20 years or so, and ESPECIALLY within the last 5 years.   They  CHERRY PICK stories. Do you understand what that really means?  They actively look for stories all across the country that reinforce their already-decided  narrative.  They will scour the country for one story about a  white police officer shooting an unarmed black man. And ramp it up and hype it for days on end.  Yes, when anything like that happens, it is terrible, and an awful thing for everyone involved, especially the family of the one killed.

But if the  policeman shot an unarmed white man, it would never be taken up by the news media (or would be written in a small article in the back pages of the newspaper, or a small, obscure article on a news source website) .......they would quietly ignore the story and keep looking....... until they find a more "juicy" story that helps stir anger, and does a better job of "race baiting".......... in an attempt to keep the public, especially the black population, all up-in-arms about widespread "rampant racism".

Never mind that there are BAD people in every walk of life. Every profession has a percentage of  BAD people......teachers, police officers, firemen, stock clerks, actors, attorneys, lawyers, doctors, nurses, sports athetes, etc etc.  So if 1 or 2% of the people are BAD in any certain group, should we abolish that whole group? Close the schools because some teachers are child molesters?  Get rid of the police force because some policemen (here and there) are ROTTEN and racist??  It makes no sense.  Who are you gonna call when someone breaks into your house, or you are  a victim of some type of violent crime??

As far as the virus is concerned,  they are also ignoring that in most counties of most states the ACTUAL DEATH RATE from coronavirus is dropping and has been for months.  They make blanket statements that sound ominous.  But if you drill down, it isn't as bad as they like to paint it.
