Yea thanks kroger for saying thank you to essential workers by heavily cutting hours. I'm glad the program is dead but I've never seen hours cut this badly and I've been with the company 15 years. Unless you are 2nd or 3rd on the select a schedule forget about getting decent horus. It's a no wonder they can't keep new hires as the job sucks @$$ and is a toxic work environment where employees are treated like rag doll slaves rather than people.

I agree with your post but this is the time of year where they typically cut hours anyway (after July 4th). That in addition to the recent wave of new hires due to covid they have a surplus of people they need to bleed. I'm not in the least surprised that they cut hours THAT badly.

With working 15 years grocery I've never seen them cut this badly. Never. Even the normal shifts that should be a full 8 hrs are not a full 8 hrs. 6 hrs at best.

One plus of the hour cut is it's forcing flaky people hired during the march pandemic to quit and move on.

Notice that the paper copy of the schedule does not always appear.  Hours may not be in compliance with contract they have with our weak union.  Documentation needs to be just a little harder during these troubled times.

It's Kroger. They don't give a damn about your hours. You are a dollar bill to them, and if they can get more of them in their own bank accounts by removing a few of yours, so be it.

Corporations are people too.

Have you even thought about what Rodney and the shareholders are going through right now?

Jeeze.
