Today, I found $200.00 cash (2-$100.00 bills) inside whilstbon my sweep. I quickly picked it up and finished my sweep. I had no clue it was that much until I checked it in the restroom. I am in shock. I NEVER have found that much money in all 2 years I have been here. I consider myself lucky. That $200.00 will be a nice treat.
I considered turning it in for a fraction of a second but decided against it immediately. Kroger would just end up keeping it and putting it into store funds. They have enough already and do NOT need the $200.00 I found.
Has anyone else found a large some of money and kept it or should I have turned it in and just counted it as a "good deed?"

The right thing to do is a good deed and turn it in. It might have been some ones' last $200. And, now there is no food to eat.
I suggest that there is still time to turn it in to a store manager even tho it has been a day.
It's hard to pass up not noticing $200.00. Hell, I found $200.00 one time in Krogers, but then, I wasnt on the clock at the time so I had no qualms about keeping it. All modesty aside though,if I found $200.00 at my store lying around I'd keep it as well, BUT I wouldnt spend it for at least 2-3 weeks and wait to see if someone asked about the lost cash and gave the EXACT amount, in the EXACT type of bills

man every associate is are nothing but common thieves. This is disgusting.
I found $20 on Monday while walking through an aisle minutes after clocking in. Gave it to a poor beggar today outside of a 7/11. Feels good man. He was expecting mere chump change.

So if no one claimed it after a certain time they just keep it rather than say give it back to who ever found it?

Exactly. It goes into the "Store fund" To buy flowers and cards for grieving coworkers is what I have heard.
I do not keep any money that I find while at kroger.
I don't need it and you never know who is watching.
Over the years, I have probably found under $50 in small bills. I always give it to the CSM. One time I found $5 behind some cake mix with a note saying, "Congratulations. You found the money. Spend it however you want." No thanks. There was a comanager that didn't like me at the time and I could see him setting a trap. lol.
I have found amounts from $20 to $100 in various areas of the store. Found $100 in the bathroom once. Turned it in and a grateful customer picked it up-Management always asks for ID in these situations
When I was a checker, a customer had forgotten to take their $100 in cash back at self checkout while I was running it. I collected it, re-printed a receipt for the order, wrote a note on the receipt that it was left behind, and stuck it in the till. The guy comes back after leaving the store hoping someone didn't walk off with it, and tries to give me a $20 tip for the courtesy. I refuse multiple times, only for him to go to the service desk for an envelope that he then leaves at my desk for me and walks off.
