Anybody else running the Kroger automatic floor machine? Night crew will have to dust mop whole store and scrub around poles and registers then program the machine to scrub the floors. cannot put anything on the floors during this time.
Well, the store manager needs to rethink the process.
The courtesy clerks are supposed to do the sweep every two hours. So, the floor should be cleanish.
The way My Store manager set it up:
Scrub the pallet staging area and Grocery aisles first before anyone starts working. Then do rest of store.
Each department picks up their mats/rugs before closing and puts them back before opening.
The Courtesy Clerks sweep the floor.
Night Grocery starts and monitors floor robot that operates flawlessly.
Once a week, Utility Clerks are to mop under shelves and areas the machine is unable to get to.
The Receiver is to scrub the backroom weekly with special brushes.
Reality:
Re scrub staging area and Grocery aisles before the store opens.
Starbucks forgets to pick up their rugs. Produce is good about it. I haven't seen any rugs at the entrance in a long time.
Floor rarely gets swept before night crew gets there.
The robot does not perform flawlessly. It needs assistance every 5 minutes.
I had to get someone from Night crew to mop un scrubbed areas the night before a special visit. Might have been the only time since we got the machine.
The back room might have been scrubbed once since we got the machine. Now, we are unable to locate the special brushes.
Suggestion:
Put the slowest workers to do the floors. Schedule them 4-6 hours a night.
Ask the store manager to come in overnight and show you how well the machine works.
It is able to do the floors while the store is open as long as the floors have been swept and the squiggy is working correctly.
Good luck.

Yep. It sucks. Used to have one guy who made the floors look great every day. Now we need half a dozen other people working to make them look just half decent. Most the time it just looks like **** though. There's been residue from a milk spill in the middle of the store for 2 weeks now. Corporate morons expect this thing to run by itself when things move around so often and aisles are so cramped it stops 60 times a night. Most nights the night lead just says **** it and let's it sit.
