Listed fired with no reason?

Hello, one of my friend wanted to back to work to a different store, but we checked that he got listed fired eventhough he didnt get the actual fired such as HR talk to him to let him go nor any termination paper.

He didnt just walked out the door, he gave a week notice to HR.

So what do you guys think that he should do? Should he call direct to HR and explain the situation and asks them to change to hireable? Also He still keep the text to the previous HR

Actually its pretty *****y situation that listed fired so we arent able to hire him.

is this totally BS of previous HR or can be happen?

thanks much

While I don't know the situation, I always question why anyone that previously quit should be rehired. They already showed they were not going to be "long term" and in your situation only gave a 1 week notice.

Two weeks notice is standard.  One week might as well be one minute unless he has an inside connection.

Sounds like he doesn't.

Was he on probation? How long did he work there? If he was on probation they can fire him for any reason from a fart to a hair out of place.
Was he in good standing with management? No disciplinary paperwork, perhaps someone didnt like him and decided to fire him.
Any Kroger can override the 'Do Not Rehire' list, we've done it before. (HR made a HUGE stink about though...and I mean HUGE.) But we kept the guy and he worked out fine. Even HR backed off.
Talk to your management and HR. Maybe something can be worked out.
Also, was he with the union? If he was, get them involved asap

If the Hiring Manager wants him back, they can over look any "coding" except theft.  Normally, as long as someone leave on semi decent terms, they can get rehired and the coding would reflect that.  If he was/still on good terms with the Str Mgmt at the store he quit, he could ask them to look into it.  In reality, he would just need them to say he wasn't fired.  If he was hired, they would had to fill out some type of form and it would be in his eFile.
