Ads in the middle of songs
Permalink

Been noticing something odd lately. Recently there have been commercials cutting in the middle of some songs playing on the radio. It's not someone using the intercom, its an actual commercial. Then the song will resume after the ad is done.  It doesn't happen with every song, but it's pretty obnoxious. Anyone else have this happen in their store?

Of course.

It's the new normal since Kroger switched from ISAN to Vibenomics over the summer.

Yes.  Pretty tired of most of the playlist also.  Some shoppers are liking it but they can just walk outside if it gets sickening.

At our store, the commercial will play through the song, and you can hear the song playing in the backround softly. And its ALMOST ALWAYS through a good song. It's also some dumb@ss commercial featuring something stupid like Northwest Cherries or something.

It is happening with about 50% of the songs played now. (In Louisville Division).  The interruptions are, for the most part NOT actual ads selling anything, they are the dreary announcements about wearing a mask, and washing your hands, etc.  (the announcements we HAVE ALREADY HEARD THOUSANDS OF TIMES IN THE LAST 6 OR 7 MONTHS!!!!!, and every person in the store who didn't just arrive from Mars has already heard them repeatedly) ,and the interruptions of the songs imply that these announcements are important. I suggest EVERYBODY bombard the Vibenomics company contact line at their website and COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!

If enough people complain, they may be forced to stop the insanity.  It sounds very unprofessional, undisciplined, amateurish, confusing, and irritating.

I hate when they say, "Please remember to wash your hands and sanitize your work area."  You know, I've been working there for over 30 years and until I heard them say that, I never knew I was suppose to do that.  That was sarcasm in case anybody missed it.
