So there's one Kroger in my town where ALL the sco registers take credit / debit only. Fk that. I keep something in my wallet called U.S. Legal Tender---that means you have to accept it at any and all legal places of business.

I'm not into causing people problems but on this one I do. Every time. I make the sco clerk ring me up, and it seems to be the same one every time, and she's caught quite a $hitty attitude towards me, and I don't care. None of this is her fault, but it's not mine either. This whole cashless thing is being blamed on covid, like everything else, and it's all bull$hit.

So she and I will be at her til as she's fetching my change and there's people needing help at other terminals and very probably others ripping the place off blind cuz she's occupied with me---------easy fix, tho.

Same thing the coin shortage is B-S there is no coin shortage. And I also carry cash and one fast food joint asked me if I had change. I said sorry I do not. The cost of my meal was like $10.12. They then had the nerve to ask if I had a credit or debit card. I said yes I do but I cannot use it. I do not like to use it for amounts under $20.00.

I am not saying I never do if I am buying something I really need I will use it for under $20.00 sometimes. But I knew what they were doing so I refused to use my card.

Coin shortage is one of the company lazy harassment policies.  They want to go cashless, get you all apped up and generally do whatever gives them control.  No employees, cameras everywhere, partnering with other companies, your phone, gangs and whatever to spy on you everywhere.  They want to get to the point where Kroger robots come to your home, take your money and maintain every variety of spyware against you.

If every Kroger brand store was a N. Korea military installation, would that be okay?  That is about what Kroger is like

What is wrong with using a credit or debit card for small purchases? If you want to limit your spending just use a check register to track it.

Solid points. I hadn't even considered it could be that bad---thanks for that, Ima sleep reeeeal well now!----but it further strengthens my case against Corporate America and Big Government. As long as cash exists, I'll keep using it where I can. If I can't, I'll show my ass til I can biggrin

Legal tender for all debts except you don't have a debt because you haven't bought anything. You don't have to accept CASH as a private business no matter what you think confuse

If they cant let 12 cents go then they need to close down. If they cant give you the change back then these places need to close and lets see how long they ask for exact change then

Two things to consider on the subject of forcing people to use only debit or credit:

* Not everyone has nor can qualify for a card. But cash doesn't care about your past mistakes or current economoc status----and nor should anyone else.

* If the system all goes to credit or debit, every transaction you make is recorded---along with all your personal identification. Every cent you're worth is now accounted for...and taxable. No more hiding and saving stacks of cash, even poor people will now be bent over and raped like the middle class.

I'll start stealing $hit before I let that happen to me.

Exactly this was Taco Bell and I was already pissed off because I ordered a Mexican Pizza Nacho's and they said they were out. OK then I ordered Nacho's and they said they were out.

I then told them I wanted a double Cheeseburger. They said sir we do not carry that. I told them to take the Taco Shells chop them up and make Nacho's. I think I pissed them off. I got to the window and paid that's when they asked. I heard the lady whisper something to the cashier and I heard the cashier say for real. I guess they were talking about me? I don't care and yes I was serious about chopping Taco Shells up. Anything to make customers happy it may sound crazy but the customer would be happy.

Nothing really but under $5.00 I would not because the banks do not like people to do that. Some banks have started charging for under $5.00 purchases.

It's not just Kroger saying there is a change shortage. All places are saying that and I have already asked my bank and they said it was not true.

That's a thing.

They partnered with Nuro and ran trials with self-driving delivery cars in Scottsdale, AZ, and are now switching to Houston.

I can see the practical applications of this: It's gonna significantly reduce public store theft if the greater % of the merch is coming from locked and guarded warehouses. Kinda hard to sneak out of those places with full carts of stolen $hit.

Ditto for the crime ridden parking lots, front ends and shopping aisles.

On the down side tho, it's gonna further separate an already hugely divided class structure. Poor folk who rely on cash n carry are gonna get hit by this. Highways, already too poluted with truck traffic, will be that much further burdoned.

What we really need is a massive population reduction. Maybe covid is really our hero biggrin
