Yet, I feel like a black sheep due to not being one of the talkative ones. People gossip and talk sh*t at my job to no end. And I'm sure I'm talked about as well due to being a quiet worker.

I've been a "quiet worker" for over 30 years.  That doesn't mean that I never talk to my co-workers.  However, I keep my personal life to myself.  If they want to talk about me, so what?  I'm not seeking their approval.

I am quiet too.  I don't talk too much about myself or my personal life to anyone.  Non of their business.

I manage 15 people.  They can either love me or hate me.  I don't care as long as they get their work done.

I don't socialize with my coworkers outside of work.

Gossip spreads in our store life a wild fire.  And, I don't even work in the Deli!

Hell no, I'm the same way. Another thing: don't add anyone from work on your social media accounts. I never do. It's the #1 way to cause yourself job site trouble.

Know the best way to keep a secret? KEEP IT to yourself. When co workers try pumping me for information on someone or something I play dumb; when they try sharing gossip with me I say I'm busy and excuse myself away.

Nothing wrong with a man keeping quiet and doing his work. The world needs more people like that.

I don't play dumb.  I just tell them it's none of their concern.

I like that attitude. And I bet m never really socialize outside of work either. I figure the more a person knows about you, the more ammo they have to use against you if they secretly don't like you or become jealous of you.

People constantly gossiping and snitching and talking sht about everybody seems to be the national past time now. I work in a factory full of men, the last place you'd expect that kind of bullsht, but they all act like bitches. It'll be a bunch of em in a break room rippin up on someone out of the room....and you'll later see them rotate turns and **** talking each other when that person's away too. Other than exchanging basic work related info, with a slight smile on my face to keep things neutral, I don't interact with anyone.

Another important thing (or at least it is to me): DEFinitely avoid chit-chat with work place females. If you have to be in close quarters with them keep your lip zipped----and try to make sure there's witnesses should you need them. That's another thing we're thick with these days: these 'Me Too-er' bitches. Think I'm being paranoid? Try having a case put on you by one of them. I'm in a union shop so that helps, but I've seen guys who were years on the job and with impeccable records get sht canned by lying ass bitches.

Keep to yourself is my advice. You can't go wrong.

If you don't give a customer or co-worker what they want they get mad. Just because they are mad doesn't make them right. It just means you get to hear their stance in a more aggressive manner.

lol... That shrink is a pin head. I got about a third of the way in before I left in disgust. I worked in the psych field for several years; everything about his body language, pressured voice, the fact that he was physically blocking that dude's way, in that simulation, was ridiculous. He would actually be ES calating his subject, not vice-versa.

Nope, because there was nothing wrong with my response.  I'd really like to know what you thought I meant by my reponse because, to anybody else, it's as plain as day.  That''s a figure of speech, by the way.

Talking is fine.  Being sociable makes work nicer, if done right.  It is about the only way training can happen, so you don't get stuck with every job.  Be careful about gossip.  Corporate is listening and reading your personal stuff on line.  Personal relationships with coworkers should be treated with respect because of the possible harm and benefit.  Could result in hot sex or a better job with some other company.
