Does reporting a walkaway from SCO do anything more than resulting in all the blame being placed on the attendant?
The store I worked at a lot of the time the attendant had to go for a price check because the courtesy clerk was outside or the customer asked the attendant to come with them for a question about a product. If a Customer ask for something then they are
supposed to go to assist them. And then if another customer said. "You should not walk away" That proves another thread that the Customer is NOT always right.
As an SCO attendant, I NEVER walked away to do a price check. EVER. My focus was 100% up front on the main SCO console. I just directed them to customer service or kept calling until someone finally came up to do the price check.
I never walkaway from SCO unless the person asking is the only costumer or if I can get another cashier or someone from Front Desk to watch over SCO. The best option is to just get a clerk or customer service to find out the correct price.

I was in there again today and the attendant walked away to check on something for a customer. Their was only one bagger and he was outside getting carts. And this girl should have been opening a register but the other attendant I saw when I walked in was either on break or went to the restroom. But this is the way my local store works.
Cashier 7am or (maybe 5am?) Maybe on self checkout
Cashier 7am?
Bagger 7am
Utility 5am 6am or 7am not sure
Cashier 9am (Has to run SCO while Attendant is in restroom)
It seems nothing has changed since I left. Store now opens at 5 am used to be 24 hrs. But I understand the attendant that comes in for SCO has to go to the restroom she goes at 7 am when a cashier comes in and then at 9am when the next or she could go on first break at 9am. And a bagger comes in at 7am and utility either 5 am or 7am not sure. But a Utility person should not have to bag. They should have another bagger at 8am or 9am. Utility has things to do and I usually ignored when they called me to bag especially on Tuesday when I had to work the supply truck.
No other Bagger until 9:30 am 10 am or even 11 am.
Now the Front End help is going to be worse if minimum wage goes to $15.00. I would go back for $15.00 but someone who works there told me if I went back he would whoop my ass.

My company started harassing us so we got the union on their @$$ and they slapped them with an issue that we were doing too much. All we were to do was baby sit the machines and we couldn't go past them. If people wanted lotto tough luck. If you're getting written up for it file an ethics point complaint.
